40 Dec 22 Comment Oh Henry, you are getting clever! I do like the two ships in the final image. The colours are lovely and I like your compositional placement of all objects. Great image. Dec 13th
40 Dec 22 Comment Hi Lin, It sounds like you were very lucky to be able to record this lovely scene. Sometimes we get something on the back of the camera that is not quite true to what is in front of the camera. I do like the colours and I've seen strong sunsets like this many times. Dec 13th
40 Dec 22 Comment Hi Jamie, I use a bird id app on my phone called Merlin. I am able to take a photo of a bird (or in most cases a photo of one of my photos and it will identify the bird for me. Sometimes it will give information and even the bird's call or song. It identified your bird as a Semipalmated Plover. You have cropped in a lot, but still have a good shot of the bird. I wonder if you could crop a little more from the right hand side as I feel that there is a bit too much space there. YOu may not be able to crop the image any more. Keep shooting those birds! 40 Dec 22 Reply Thanks for your comments Lin. I'm glad you can see all sorts of things in my photograph. I will work on the big brown area to reduce it. Dec 8th
40 Dec 22 Reply Hi Jamie, Thanks for your comments. I'm glad you have enjoyed the image and seen so many things in it. Dec 8th
40 Dec 22 Reply Thanks for your comments Andrew. I think this is one of those images that the more you look, the more you see. Thank you for the comments on paper. In Australia, the paper of choice is either gloss or semi gloss. I went through a matt paper phase and lots of people could not understand why I thought it was so good. Dec 8th
40 Dec 22 Reply Hi Don, Thanks for your comments. Yes, printing is an art form all of it's own. We have a high end printer that has 10 inks. It hurts when we need to replace them! Hope you haven't been too sick with covid. In Australia we do not need to isolate any more. If you are feeling ok you can go to work! Dec 8th
40 Dec 22 Comment Hi Don, this is an interesting image. I did play with the crop. I thought that a square crop worked well too. By cropping the image, there is more emphasis on the gates. In Lightroom, I played with sliders dropping highlights, lightening shadows and playing with contrast. Dec 2nd
40 Dec 22 Comment Hi Andrew, the light looks harsh in this image and the buildings, vehicles and signs on the left of the image keep pulling my eyes there. The lady does look proud and happy to be sitting on her much loved machine. Dec 2nd
