Thank you all for your comments, which I do appreciate. I have started to sit somewhere in the main street mall and point and shoot with my camera while looking the other way. A lot of hit and miss. Mainly misses! I use my thumb on the shutter button and watch the angle of the lens. That is why this lad was a bit out of focus and his feet were chopped off, but I liked the story. As the people are in a public area, other people are allowed to photograph them. I have not yet plucked up the courage to approach people that I don't know and ask permission to take their photo. That is another...big...step for me. |

Hi Catherine, I love the fact that you were able to get such a close up photo of these little guys! I also like the fact that you were able to capture one of the huge feet too. The catchlights in their eyes is good. We don't have brown pelicans. Ours are black and white. |

Hi Alison, I like the final images after you have cropped and worked them. You have been able to make some great images. I like the triptych idea too. I'm not really a fan of that big, colourful border though. It is hard to see past it to the image itself. Perhaps a narrower border would overcome this. |

Hi Jamie, mission accomplished! Yes, it did bring a smile to my face. Zip looks a little wary of the monster being so close. We live 9 miles from the CBD and sometimes get koalas in our street. Those cute little things make the weirdest low, grumbling sound! Thanks. |

Hi Anne, I was going to say that the colour shot was more interesting to me until I saw what Stephen had done. I really like his version. It is morning here and I don't function till midday, but it took me a while to realise that the "blobs" weren't part of the structure, they were in fact the children. Is there any chance of blackening the blacks to make them stronger? A great abstract image. Well done. |

Hi Henry,
I like the fact that you have cropped to one image. I would like to see a little more on the top left so that the whole of that part of the flower was showing and the same at the bottom. I the way you have handled the highlights in the background, but consider darkening those leaves just a little more to really make the flower stand out. It is quite an interesting flower. |

I agree with Jamie, that this looks like a fun area. I also would crop the right hand side to just leave the wall. We have a wall under a bridge in the CBD that the artists paint and paint over repeatedly. It is always fun to see the new offerings. |
