Hi Martin,
What a great portrait this is! There are many stories that come to mind as I look at Marcie. What a shame that you have 'lost' her, but I do hope she finds some form of happiness. I'm not sure which image I prefer most. They all have something different about them and I like each of them for different reasons. As Piers said, you sure do bring out the character in your portraits! |

Hi Andrew, I agree that a couple of people don't hurt the image as they do show us how big the statue is. Was it possible to move to the left a little more to get some more of his face in the shot? I think you have done well in a bad light situation. |

What a great subject you have chosen. I do like the dark background as it focuses the eye to the bird. I thought he was looking at the camera and saying something like, "Haven't you finished yet? My feet are cold!" |

Hi Jamie, I love the composition of this image! It is a pity that the centre is a bit soft. The square format is perfect for this image. I wonder if you could darken the background to highlight the flower more. Anne's suggestion of playing with motion blurs sounds like fun. I like to mono treatment that you have given to this image too. |

Hi Alison, I am sure that your Grandson will love this picture, as will his friends. It has been well caught. I like the fact that he is oblivious to the alien watching him. Well captured! |

Hi Catherine, There is quite a contrast between the old beams of the wharf and the new buildings. It is hard to see the new buildings clearly and the area is very busy. The buildings seem to be misty. I wonder if it was at all possible to take a close up shot of the infrastructure holding up the beams. The various angles would be very interesting. I can see what you have tried to do and I think maybe some more saturation would help to bring out some of the colours of the new area. Would it be possible to lighten the dark areas of the beams to bring out some of the textures in the timber? |
