Dad looks a little less enthused than the child... perhaps it has been a long day. I agree about the colors - they coordinate with each other well! |

Thanks, Keith.... Yes, this is a mirror image, and I agree that it is weird that they don't exactly match. In order to balance the pine cone so it 'stood up' like I wanted it to, it had to be kind of put on its side and was leaning back some. The real one is the one on the top. |

Amazing shot. Beautiful bokeh, and like Prasad said, wonderful catchlight. The colors are soft and it's all very appealing. |

Beautiful. The background is nicely blurred, the bird has a regal look to her (him?), and the head is turned perfectly. The colors are certainly striking, and the lighting on her head and neck really adds. I wish that the image included her whole tailfeathers, but it's awesome, nonetheless. |

What a great shot! Their expressions add so much to it, and I agree that the framing makes it even more appealing. The composition is perfect, and I love the softness of their hair. One suggestion might be to sharpen the mom's face a little if possible. A fun image... |

It looks fantastic. The composition is interesting with the three central mountains (buttes?) offset so nicely from each other, and the colors are amazing. The only thing that I might suggest is highlighting the clouds in the background a bit if possible. |

This looks like a well-traveled passageway, and the colors really do make it interesting. My eye is drawn to what seems to be a broken gutter at the top, which to me, adds to the charm. |

Thanks, Kathleen! I should have gone into more detail. This was set up on a table about six feet from a window, and I balanced black poster board around the sides, top, and under the mirror. I had to monkey quite a bit with a flashlight placed maybe a foot in front of the 'box'. The camera was on a tripod, and I took perhaps 8-10 shots of the pine cone, changing the focus point each time. They were then stacked in post. In Lightroom, I created a mask of the background, and darkened it, because there were some spots that were lighter. Have fun!
