Beautiful picture , Gregory you will be surprised to know how many of my mobile clicks have won me awards and acceptances in PSA / FIAP salons and circuits.
The best part of the mobile phone is , its always around when we need it . So even a casual walk and you see something nice or interesting you can click it instantaneously. Also these days the Camera and AI features in Mobile phones is so advanced that it literally does everything to improve the image. Many a times I click using my iphone , even when I am having my camera gear with me.
About the image , I have different thoughts than Keith , I infact loved the tree branch which was kind of a frame within frame for me . I have however cropped the image in 16:9 , cause then it bring the walkway closer to me. I hope you dont mind my cropping of your image, I have attached my cropped version of your image.

Wow what a lovely place , The structure does gives us an idea of how beautiful it must have been in its days. Keith this house and trees etc is very interesting foreground subject for night photography ( Star trails, or even Milkyway / Meteor showers etc). |

Agree with Keith on all aspects, This image takes me down to the beach and I can feel the waves lashing on my feet as I am standing and taking in the view. Very well made Image. |

About this image ...... its is simply outstanding one , one which has to go up on wall or as greetings of season card.
Though I do have one suggestion , I do not know what was towards the left of the image , but if the house and the boat were as per the rule of 3rd , this image would have had even more impact.

Hi Keith , this one is going to a lenghty one , I am sorry. But I take this discussion opportunity to bring about a very ignored yet important subject of How Sensor size effects the Depth of Field of the image.
I am sure we all have noticed how wonderful Full frame camera's give us background blurr aka Bokeh , and using the same lens on a crop body at same settings doesnt give us so much background separation ( Blurr). The image of a full Frame body is always superior in background separation compared to other crop bodies.
The reason for this is the Sensor size. One can really take identically-looking photos with two wildly different cameras if you choose your settings appropriately.
I will copy paste two articles which will explain what I mean to say , as the explaination might get too long here . its also explained with use of charts and graphics.
https://photographylife.com/sensor-size-perspective-and-depth-of-field
https://shuttermuse.com/calculate-cameras-crop-factor/
KAths camera is having 1 inch sensor , so effectively when she shoots at f/5 , the image has depth of field worthy of f/13 as per full frame . So the image is sharper and has larger DoF.
Once again sorry for this long explaination. |

You are right Andrew , Drones really do give us so much more flexibility and creativity. However use of drone is a risky affair and also might land one in trouble with locals and local authorities. BTW , i lost my drone in this trip :-) , I was taking a daring video clip called Dronie ( My drone did not have obstacle sensors - those are in higher value drones). So while making on clip of us and taking the drone fly away from us while steadily gaining altitude , I took it very far away over the hill , and altitude was not enough for the drone to go over the trees on the hill and it crashed in trees and dropped to an unreachable area. I could not retrieve it without risking myself. So I let it go , decide it was not worth the risks.
but before I left the scene I downloaded the images and clips from it. So As i was saying Drone usage does come with few risks and trouble. One must be aware of it.

Thanks a lot Keith. The white splotch are actually white stone of the mountain. It has details , i need to reduce some highlights to correct it. Thanks for pointing it out.
The shutter is not slow , the image details are Shutter speed 1/120 , Aperture f/2.8 , ISO 100. |
