35 Nov 17 Reply No there are no closer images. The unusual doors on both levels is what drew me to it along with the cupolas which I found striking.

35 Nov 17 Reply The later shoots show the detail in the roof buy are a bit slat looking because of the direct sunlight on the roof. The sun was at almost a 45deg angle to the barn. There was the old observation that the light from early morning to 10am and 2-5,6 was good for regular film thd 10-2 just right for IR.

Y'all come over sometime and we can go down Rt11 in search falling treasure. BTW, the camera club is taking a field trip to Old Car City in White, GA come Dec 9". 37 acres of old cars from 1919-present.

35 Nov 17 Reply Thanks for the nice comments. I appreciate it. I, too, wish there had been more space around it. But, it did seem very unused with no one around. In some of the other images taken later in the shoot there is some more apparent space and more definition in the cupolas because of the sunlight from behind me rather than to my left.

These barns as I can tell have roofs like this store the hay and feed as well as support the the pulley system to haul those things into the space.

35 Nov 17 Reply The two X's are part of what drew me to the barn in first place. The othe attractants were the upper barn doors and the three cupolas. I'm attracted to uniqueness when it comes these old decaying structures. I would no more take away any of these features than I would add them. This barn reflects the efforts of the farm/ranch owners to maintain the barn as best they could.

These structures call attention to me by charactistics. I simply put myself on the road going by so they can 'speak' to me. I do literally close my eyes and ask the scene to tell me what it wants me to shoot.

This was among the first shots I did of this barn. Others in the same set were taken with sun behind me that show off the cupolas more.

Please keep in mind that I do not add or take away anything in the scene, at all. Not a wire, a post, an animal, a vehicle. I walk around and pick my spots carefully to show off the subject and the environment as best as I can or I leave it alone. That means I can spend 5-30 minutes at a stop getting the best set of images without thinking of editing. It's the result of years of shooting slides and negatives that require more precise exposures and compositions.
