51 Feb 26 Comment Love this mage/processing. Can you charge the original unedited image? And what software you used to get this effect? Feb 21st

86 Feb 26 Comment Agree that the angle makes this shot different. If you were in the first floor photographing the dragons - then the image would be about the dragons. The vantage point you chose - makes it more about the larger scene/viewers/photographers. I particularly like the couple sitting on the floor in the center - enjoying/admiring the dragons (although their daughter does not appear interested). Feb 3rd
86 Feb 26 Comment The noise doesn't bother me (if might if you printed the image). My gaze starts at the bottom, goes up the aisle (nice leading line) - and then lands on the ceiling - which is the main subject. I've not been in that building - tried to look at images on-line - my impression is that there is distortion due to the pano; esp at the top of the frame. What do you think? It may bother some - and others may find it part of the aesthetic. Feb 3rd
86 Feb 26 Comment Nice pop of color in an otherwise pretty monotonous image. They may not be uniform - but the randomness works/creates interest. I think the narrow/unusual aspect ratio detracts from the image. Reminds me of visiting vineyards in Italy where we saw roses on the ends - nature's "early warning system" to monitor the health of the vines. You live in a beautiful environment. Feb 3rd
86 Feb 26 Comment Definitely conveys a sense of the place/weather/time of day. Personally I wouldn't brighten it - it's a dimly lit scene, natural light with the porch light on across the street further illuminating the main subject. Chilly vibe with the dusting of snow and barren trees. Regarding the white pick-up, I think it adds a sense of place and is meaningful for you. Spring is around the corner!

87 Feb 26 Reply good point about the tree . . . I missed that. Feb 3rd
87 Feb 26 Reply . . . always raising the bar. I like that! Feb 3rd
87 Feb 26 Comment Agree - nice old-time feel with nice texture/details in the aging wood. I like that your processing made the wood on the old barn richer/darker - and the winter preset took color out of the grass. It creates a chilly vibe. Might play with monochrome; since this image doesn't have much color. You need to decide if the brown barn help or hurts the image. I think a mono version would help keep the viewers gaze on the wagon. Right now I'm pulled to the color of the barn. Feb 3rd
87 Feb 26 Comment You keep checking off those bucket list destinations! Cleary a spectacular thing to experience. Regarding this image - for me - I'm not seeing enough detail to understand what I'm looking at (without your explanation). That may be, in part, due to the resolution of the image on this website. I kind of wish there was more of a clear subject? Or even use of lighting to guide my eyes. As it stands - it really doesn't hold my interest long. I appreciate that you were trying to capture the breadth of the scene and that limits some of the above. Also - not sure what you locked focus on - when I view this at 100% - it doesn't look as sharp as I would have thought, especially since everything is at infinity and you're at f8. I wonder if a factor could be that you're shooting at 1/160sec, with a lens effectively at 200mm field of view (given the OM sensor size). Feb 3rd
87 Feb 26 Comment WOW - kudos to you for capturing this moment! The natural lighting is phenomenal; guides us to his face. Great expression/colors. The two blue pillows and his clothes create an interesting triangle that keeps me in the image. Always special when you take an image that can't be improved with processing :) Feb 3rd
87 Feb 26 Comment Glad the cloud cooperated; shooting into the sun is so hard. Nicely composed, peaceful scene. I like the different layers of depth. Regarding the colors - only you know what the scene looked like and equally important what you'd like the final image to look like. I might have guessed that this was taken with an iPhone (which in my experience tends to amp up colors/saturation); perhaps Apple thinks that's what we want. In this case you used a conventional camera, shooting in RAW - allowing you a full range of editing possibilities. Regarding sharpness - this image is relatively small (900 x 720 pixels) - when I view it at 100% in LR it looks sharp. At higher magnifications - it appears soft/grainy (as one would expect). Feb 3rd
87 Feb 26 Comment I love that we're able to go back and rediscover old images. Even in the digital realm; I've found that improvements in software allow me to "save" images that I couldn't edit even few years ago. You definitely improved this; I like the crop and lighting. Aging structure and fairly modern dress makes me wonder if these are tourists - or locals. I think their gaze adds interest; the woman looking at the man (or the photographer)and the man staring off into space in deep thought. I think you have a good range of tones; not overdone. Feb 3rd
87 Feb 26 Reply Thank you. I did struggle with the processing of the white feathers on top of the wing. They do look a bit over-processed. I may go back to the original and try again - perhaps it something about the original capture. Feb 3rd
87 Feb 26 Comment I like the way you staged this; my gaze flows along the diagonal from upper right to lower left. I'm guided by both the lighting and the diagonal layout. For me the main subjects are the starfish and the metal pan. I like that you didn't include the whole pan - that increases interest as we complete the structure in our minds. Lots of acute angles and repeating shapes! Many different textures create interest; the soft powder, metal pan - and everything in between. The color palate is soothing. Agree there are many permutations to arrange/crop; I wasn't bothered by your original layout - perhaps because there is so much repetition which makes it easier to view/follow. Feb 3rd
