Interesting image - the golden colors are everywhere! Interesting reflections and refractions. I agree with Kieu-Hanh about the distant (fourth) glass. I even wonder if the third glass adds to the image vs. creating a bit too much clutter. I like the way you framed the shot; although no glass is included in its entirety - the composition works - our minds complete the scene. |

Ruth - I meant to ask you - did you attempt to photograph the eclipse with your phone. I imagine that would have really tough (if not impossible!).

Good use of your waiting time! A scene we've all visualized. I don't see a clock - but there is a lot for me to enjoy as I wander around the image; a sign of a good image. One suggestion is to play with monochrome. There is very little color in this (and the color doesn't add much value), so B&W processing may work! |

Yup - big crop that reduces the quality of the final image (even for digital projection which requires fewer pixels than for printing). Although I'm a big fan of the iPhone camera, this is a setting where a conventional camera with manual controls/telephoto lens would make a difference! |

Colorful/interesting/sharp image. I like the angle you chose. Instead of squaring it and shooting straight - your vantage point is up and to the left. That makes it much more interesting - as the helmets get smaller/converge to some vanishing point at infinity. I like that you didn't include any of the edges/border - so the viewer can only imagine the size. Well done! |

When I first glanced at the thumbnail - I thought this was an empty planter on a desk in front of a window. LOL. There don't appear to be any blinds/curtains. Nice capture of a scene you're not likely to encounter again! My only suggestion for improvement would be to include someone taking a bath, sipping a glass of red wine. |

Ruth - beautiful colors/sharpness/detail. The flowers really stand out against the tree. Well done. |

Nice image - the horse/rider pop nicely against the background. I like the mid-air capture. A bit of blur (not easy to do with cell phone) would have further emphases the movement. To my eye - doesn't appear tack sharp. I wonder if it's the lower resolution version presented? Or if this is a significant crop of the original iPhone capture. Can you post the "out of camera" image so we can see the scene as photographed? Definitely a spot I'd return to; perhaps with a conventional camera. |

I see your point . . . on the other hand - the tourists/their clothing tells a viewer that the image is recent. |

How did you use the red filter and what do you think it did? Eager to learn - since your result is great! |

You made the right decisions! The stars need to align for all this to work. A once in a lifetime capture. Congratulations! |

Nice job using available/natural light to create interest. Sharp image! My eyes starting the central bright area - and wander out. Might consider dialing back the brightness along the left edge; it pulls the viewers gaze and isn't that interesting. |

I like this image - really does a nice job making me feel like I was there. The glare on the water - as the sun shines through cloud cover adds interest. I favor Lance's crop - since stone on the far left (more than the railing) does a nice job framing the scene and provides a more satisfying border for the image (than the tree alone). |

Beautiful capture - the bird pops so nicely against the background! Great color combinations. One suggestion might be to crop in a bit. Although the tree/flowers are important - perhaps they occupy too much real estate; a tighter crop could still include them, and better showcase the bird. |

WOW - your images are spectacular - I like the diamond ring even better! You did everything perfectly. I considered trying . . . decided not to make the drive to Indianapolis - a decision I really regret. The next opportunity close to home is in two decades; sooner if you're willing to fly to an exotic international destination. They estimate that the "opportunity cost" of the time expended in preparing for/photographing the eclipse exceeded a billion dollars.

A non-photographer will never understand spending the time, effort and money to capture an image that you could download for free. It's truly about the challenge, learning and the thrill of the capture.

Gorgeous image!!! Agree with Cindy that we can feel the connection/happiness. Definitely an image worth printing. The B&W works perfectly - great range of tones. And you don't look 70. Could anyone tell this is an iPhone image? I could not. |
