I was playing with Snapseed in anticipation of an iPhone workshop - and stumbled on how to downsize image. If you have an image open - you can click on the three dots in the upper right corner, then click settings - and on the bottom you'll see Export and Share Options. You can select the export size (ranging from 800 to 4000 pixels along the long axis) and Format/Quality (JPEG vs. PNG and JPEG quality (80, 95 or 100%)). Hope this is helpful. |

Absolutely NOT upset - just joking around! I enjoy your images and your comments! There is no right or wrong - just options to explore and different ideas to consider. All good! |

Interesting image - one thought I had - given the vertical repeating pattern - might be interesting to consider displaying as a triptych (illustrated in the attached - each panel should really be framed). I thought the upper ledge adds little. If you were to shoot this again - I'd try to get square to the fountain - so it would be straight (perhaps just my left brain preference). |

Agree - an interesting scene with so much to look at (almost too much; my eyes bounce around and don't seem to settle on anything). Nice job removing the sofa arm; I would not have noticed the repair had you not mentioned it! The ladder is the most interesting feature - and yet it's off to the side and dark. Agree the books in the center are over-exposed/blown out. Likely not much you could do to recover. I wish it was all a bit sharper (for example the Live, Laugh, Love sign on top). Definitely a place worth revisiting, since I'm sure there are many possible compositions to explore. Likely not practical on an organized tour. |

Ouch . . . I will refrain from suggesting B&W :) |

Nice image - I also like your crop; gets in closer and has everything needed to tell the story. I like the pastel blue background - somewhat at odds with the gritty sidewalk/bikes. Agree with Pat that the shadows add interest. Don't they always :) |

I like this - almost had to do a double-take to see the cat! Nice that her brown fur matches the background and tabletop - that helps pull the image together. Here left eye is sharp - and has a nice light reflex. I tried Jack's tighter crop - didn't work for me. I did try to darken all four sides and brighten Buttercup's face to make it pop more. Hopefully we get to see more of your older images! |

I really like this - the reflection is so perfect. Agree with Jack that some of the other clutter detracts - but it's reality and not much you can do. I might darken the sky slightly with a linear gradient (esp on top and right side); that might focus attention more on the buidling/reflection.
Regarding competition - I don't have anything helpful to add. Although my interest in photography is increasing - my interest in competitions is near zero. The scores are difficult to understand, the competition meetings are boring - and I've gotten comfortable shooting for my pleasure and not the judges! I remember an essay that likened photography to playing piano when nobody is home. Most of my images don't get shown/displayed/printed/etc. - and yet they give me a lot of pleasure! |

Welcome to the group! I've enjoyed it - and it has motivated me to take at least one good iPhone image each month. The critique is helpful!
I like the composition - I think the amount of water is fine. Agree that the texture of the water changes pretty abruptly near the land structure; not sure if this is artifact - or perhaps shallow water giving the surface a very different feel.
To my eye - the snow does appear to have a blue cast - that seems at odds with the relatively warm light in the distance. I don't know what the scene really looked like.
Regarding resolution - not sure I understand your question. If you want to know the pixel dimensions of your image - I think you'll find that in the information tab for the photo in whatever system you are using. I resize images in LR Mobile or on my desktop. I don't have experience with doing that using Snapseed. The file size in MB has little correlation with resolution (pixel dimensions). For this site - you need to keep the file size < 1 MB and I usually submit a resolution of 1500 pixels on the long axis (in case people view images on their desktop). Smaller should also work, esp for mobile devices.
I look forward to seeing your future images!
Welcome!

Agree. Breeze is DEFINiTELY a problem - that's why I usually shoot macro in my basement! You either need still air or lots of patience (ideally both!). Unfortunately I lack the latter. On this one - I was helped by bright sun - resulting in fast shutter speed. |

Thank you! I tried tethered to LR; doesn't work well, not reliable/stable. Never thought about iPad - I will investigate option for Canon. Agree a larger real-time screen in my basement would help! On the other hand, my wife would tell you that I can't even get the horizon straight on a tripod mounted landscape!

Perfect image - love the sharp/dangerous bolt of lightening against the soft/colorful rainbow. The foreground and distant mountain are excellent and give a sense of the place; something often missing in lightning/fireworks photography where the camera is pointed at the sky. Having said all the above - I don't think I'll be chasing storms anytime soon. |

I really like this image - largely B&W - with interesting pops of color throughout that are natural and hold my interest. I like the repetitive reflections of the distant lights on the wet street. Nice that you captured motion of the closer car moving parallel to the sensor - yet the vehicle behind (heading directly into your camera) is relatively sharp with nice starburst headlights. One of the nice things about keeping images on a computer - is that you can go back and find interesting images that you skipped over years ago. As post-processing improves - it's possible to salvage some images that were impossible (or too difficult) to fix when they were originally captured. |

I like this - it makes me think about what happened? What's the story behind this scene? Or did someone just stage this scene for fun? We may never know. The colorful ring pops in an otherwise subdued image; making me think about hope/optimism in an otherwise bleak landscape. |

Nice image that hold my interest. The blurred background is perfect - a great example that you can get nice bokeh even at f6.3 if the subject is relatively close to the lens and the background is far away. The yellow/green color palate is perfect. |

Very creative - the rider pops (agree with Will that his gaze into your lens is great) and then my eyes wander around the rest of the image. |

I'm guessing no basements in that neighborhood! Very peaceful scene. I was struck by the low key/low contrast processing - but for this image - it works! The sky and water have such similar/monotonous tones - literally framing and focusing the viewers gaze on the mid-ground. Well done! |

Thank you. Do you have any advice for how to line things up better. I thought the top of the glass (and water level) were aligned with the lines on the paper. Perhaps the paper wasn't straight? Looking at this now in LR - perhaps glass is tipped slightly to the right? Short of getting a level and lots of rigid right angles - the only thing I can think of is more careful set up? Doesn't seem like something that can be corrected after the fact? |

I'm sorry that you have covid. Hopefully it will be mild/short. There is an increase in hospitalizations nationally for reasons that (as usual) are unclear! The prevalence of mild- moderate cases is impossible to assess - since patients are not going to central testing locations or seeking medical advice. |

Thanks Lance . . . I didn't appreciate the leaning of the glass . . . now that you pointed it out - I can't unsee it. I'm not sure how to correct or do better next time? Any suggestions? |
