32 Jun 21 Comment Hi Stephen, thanks for sharing that 600 years old palace. In my opinion, it should have been taken from further back and you could reduce noise in the sky portion, enhance details and improve image quality in PS. All other adjustments you did are ok. Jun 1st

74 Jun 21 Comment Amazing castle & landscape. Have you also tried a larger aperture; but this will surely increase the exposure time as your min ISO is 200 I guess. Anyway, castle is sharp enough, sky is a bit grainy and forest area needs some more detail. I agree with Haru about background toning and would like to re-edit; but your original is too small. Arne's suggestion can be tried. In Dick's re-edit, I enjoyed clouds' tones but there's an over enhancement. Converting nature-green photos into bnw are always risky ie color passings tell much more than the gray tones. Thanks for sharing. Jun 12th
74 Jun 21 Reply Hi Bill, thanks for your comment, Yes, you're absolutely right, I should have removed that umbrella shaft. Jun 12th
74 Jun 21 Reply Hi Stephen, yes he was replacing top piece of heel. Young man with temporary slippers is his customer. I'm not sure if you can find such traditional street cobblers in main tourist areas like Cesme, Istanbul is an exception; but the best is to visit East Anatolia to see and capture real lifestyles. Thanks for your comment. Jun 5th
74 Jun 21 Comment Hi Trevor, Im really impressed with your photo. There can be great competition between clouds, sands and temple for the "Main Subject" title; but even if it is too small, temple should be the main subject. As Haru mentioned, hills are too dark and details should be enhanced. I also agree with Dick that clouds and water on the left side are too bright in whole pic toning. Thanks for sharing this impressive work. Jun 4th
74 Jun 21 Comment Hi Arne, it's a good idea to take and keep a image of old pier before reconstruction so you can travel to past -in your mind- in the future. Surely there can be different views and retouching as Dick did well; but I also enjoyed your work; bnw conversion, cropping, toning are all well. Let me only advise to enhance details on wooden pier that should be the main subject. Thanks for sharing your citylife. Jun 4th
74 Jun 21 Reply You're absolutely right, thanks Dick. Jun 4th
74 Jun 21 Comment Hi Dick, both the color and bnw versions are incredible, thanks for sharing. I have some views and questions: I guess, you didn't shoot with your back to the sun, have you used any filter? In my opinion, ISO 400 has limited you a bit so you're going to shoot again with a modern kit i.e. lower aperture, lower shutter speed and a higher ISO. You really did a good job with old camera and awaiting your next shot. Jun 4th
74 Jun 21 Reply Definitely, much nicer. Thanks Haru. Jun 3rd
74 Jun 21 Reply I totally agree with you Haru. Probably, that whiteboard works as an airflow shield as he's working outside. Thanks. Jun 3rd
74 Jun 21 Comment Hi Haru, thanks for sharing this very interesting image. I wouldn't have known it was a river if you hadn't told us. Nevertheless, -in my opinion- cherry tree must be sharp and main subject; cuz, tree has many impressive details; but petal carpet is only an extraordinary fact. Jun 1st
