Hi Stephen, Vietnam is one of the friendly destination for photographers which we like to visit; they're completely closed nowadays because of damn virus! Your shot is really an exclusive one. I try to re-edit your original e.g. sharpened and reduced noise first, adjusted color balance, highlights and toning, changed the gradient, increased contrast, lowered the brightness. Hope you enjoy. Thanks for sharing. |

Hi Haru, your photo took me back to the 60s. We were living in East Turkey at high altitude ie 5600 ft above sea level in -5F, at the foot of the Mount Ararat. This means long winters, snow walls, frozen lakes and icicles. Thank you for the nostalgia. Regarding exif: I enjoyed smooth silky effect and can imagine 1/13 at f11 because of snow factor. Have you used polarizing filter and what was your white balance / Kelvin value? I see on the original, both the absorbed red behind the flowing water and blue tints on icicles. Fortunately, grayscaling process tolerates such colors passing and you did your job well. Thanks for this outstanding post Haru. |
