Hi Stephen, frankly speaking, it looks very complicated. It can be easy to identify parts, equipments, workers etc in color version; but in grayscale, communication between my eyes and brain is overloaded:) On the other hand, this is a great photo showing us what a difficult and complex job to construct such a big building.
Your PS work is ok. Thanks for sharing.

Istanbul is 70F today, but we're expecting snow next week. Your work is well-captured & edited. I don't know the daily snowfall and depth; but snow covered pine and shady snow dunes look amazing. I do not agree with Haru to increase contrast as it does cause extra darker shadows as well as you've captured on a bright sunny day I guess. This already means hi-contrast and also the reason of blue color cast in color version. What was your white balance? Briefly your shooting angle, great toning and sharp texture are all commendable. Thanks for sharing Ying. |

I enjoyed both the color and grayscale versions; but surely, grayscale expresses the meaning and sadness of the monument better. You really did a good job in PS with D&B; but -if we think emotional side- dodging the monument and burning the rest invite us to concentrate only on monument; whereas, I personally wish to see neighbor buildings a bit more to dream Twin Towers. Apparently, my literary side provokes my photography side ie you did a good job:) Thanks for sharing Arne. |

Depends photographic eye and -I agree- your style is highly preferred; but my intention here was to camouflage her in the wall-painting as her dress colours were almost similar. Thanks for your suggestion Arne. |

Hi Stephen, you're right: Hamamyolu means "A road to Turkish Baths." There were many before 90s; but today, very few. Thanks for your comment. |

It looks like two different stories in one frame ie red-rock arches and La Sal Range. We discover an amazing landscape of contrasting colors and land forms with your post, thank you Haru. I think, there is some evening fog over the foothills of mountains which makes Turret Arch more prominent.
Your camera adjustments are ok at 300 mm; but you could try a bit higher aperture, higher ISO by keeping same speed as it was a handheld shot. Anyway, your shot and editing are definitely ok.
Thanks for sharing Haru. |
