32 Jan 21 Comment Hi Stephen, I wish you and your family a happy and healthy new year. Sûfî is a Muslim person who follows the rules of Tasawwuf / Islamic mysticism. As you also mentioned, there are tempting light passings; but slow shutter without tripod or IS / VR caused blurring effect and high ISO caused grainy texture. It's a chain. Surely, grain isn't necessarily bad all the time; but light is a water of photography and I normally don't exceed 1600. Blurred hands show motion and ok. I don't know which type of lens you used; but f2,8 or below + faster shutter would give a sharper photo if it was a hand-held shot. If I understood correctly, this is a dance shot in the dark so you firstly need a fast shutter for body sharpness, wide aperture to allow more light into the camera and -depending shutter speed- ISO is a key point to be adjusted. You can reduce grains in PS. Thanks for sharing. Jan 1st

74 Jan 21 Comment I agree, hill towns are amazing in Tuscany region. Frankly speaking, bnw version is more impressive than colored as you edited perfectly. Well-done Bill, thanks for sharing. Jan 21st
74 Jan 21 Reply Thanks Haru, you're right; but I thought that modern kiosk on the left side lowers the average age of buildings in the photo :) Jan 4th
74 Jan 21 Comment An impressive landscape looks like a painting. Do you know the meaning of yellow soil, can it be sulfur mix? That's true, bnw conversion did its best to enhance details; but I enjoyed color version a bit more. I cannot guess your altitude, -apart from ground shots- can you advise us on relation between altitude, your flight speed and shutter speed? Thanks for sharing Ying, have a happy and healthy new year? Jan 3rd
74 Jan 21 Comment It looks like an Allium Rotundum (In Turkish: Deli PĂ„±rasa / Crazy Leek) ie wild onion. Tones & shades of impressive green embrace Mother Nature in our souls. Thanks for sharing Angela, have a happy & healthy new year. Jan 3rd
74 Jan 21 Comment Both the color and bnw versions are extremely beautiful Haru, congrats. Color passings, silky effect and sharpness are all optimum even though you don't use a ND filter, but PL filter possibly 2-Stops. Thanks for sharing, have a happy & healthy new year. Jan 3rd
74 Jan 21 Reply There're many beautiful mosques and churches in Istanbul which are centuries old. Ayasofya Mosque (Hagia Sophia) and Sultanahmet Mosque (Blue Mosque) are the most popular ones. I've not been photographing them since last feb because of damn virus and am impatiently waiting for the virus-free days.

Thanks for your constructive suggestions Arne and I agree with you. You can see edited-color copy on my IG gallery ie @atakemalsahin

74 Jan 21 Reply I'm happy to refresh your memories Stephen. Ortakoy Sq is one of the most famous tourist areas in Istanbul. As you can imagine; all those café's, resto's are closed nowadays and only delivery service is allowed.

I appreciate your re-edit and it looks very good, thanks. Hope, you can organize a new trip to Istanbul after Covid and we photograph history together. Take care of yourself and family.
