Hi Stephen, great composition on details. I learned many things from your description. Even if they are very interesting, these topics are very foreign to me. In my opinion, you should have used a plain backplane. And I just want to ask why you did need such high speed? It's sharp enough, bnw version is better. You could increase contrast a bit. Thanks for sharing and take care. |

As a result of the beauty of dodging and burning, church looks really impressive. There's nothing to say more about editing; but I applaud your success. Thanks for sharing Arne. |

Mountains meet the sky complement the photo and invite us to peaceful nature so I don't agree with Haru about cropping the sky. Before converting to bnw, you have to fix color balance e.g. magenta level is high. Then adjusting highlights, shadows and increasing midtone contrast, reducing noise and sharpen. Finally, you may prefer gradient grayscale or bnw. Thanks for sharing Bill. |

As you emphasized, the bnw version is much more magnificent. I agree with Haru to make the ball darker tone. Three details that caught my attention first were dog's collar ie hair texture change on neck, dog's eye ie not looking at ball; probably, dogs' viewing angles are different and use strong sensors to chase ball and other stuff. And not showing teeth means no aggression and ball is not a potential danger:) Your exif values and PS adjustments are pretty well. Good job, thanks for sharing Ying. |

Hi Stephen. Yes I know Turkish-American Photographer Mr Pakay who died several years ago. I have also my own photos taken 50 years ago on Galata Bridge. It's so emotional to look at those photos now. We're all getting older and going more into the past:( Thanks for your constructive comment and sharing Baldwin's photo. |

Konnichiwa Haru, this waterfall is highly likely from Japan and you're absolutely right that it looks like being in Amazon rainforest as we do not know other planets yet:) Frankly speaking, Mother Nature here is impressive. Regarding exif; probably you have not chosen "evaluative metering", but "center-weighted" so ISO has remained low and cave interior has become -preferred- dark against bright light. 14-24 f2,8 is a superior lens and has done its job very well. Meanwhile, have you tried any other aperture & speed variations for a bit more silky water effect? And which was your main focus area; water or trees? I agree, adjustments depend many other details and photographer's his own eye; but I really enjoyed both the color and bnw versions ie both take us on a different trip between green hope and unidentifiable mystery. Thanks for sharing Haru. |
