Great peaceful composition, but I agree with Jim and his revision shows what I'd like to suggest. Furthermore, pic could be cropped a bit from the left end just after the boat. |

Both the color and bnw versions are beautiful; well-edited and sharp enough. There's nothing to say more. Congrats Jim. |

Beautiful heron, impressive take-off. Sharpness, contrast and color armony are all ok; only a fish in the beak is missing. Well-done Phil. |

So natural shot through airport life Shirley. Pastel colors, silhouettes and front light effects are all impressive. |

I've firstly noticed starting crank hole, then driver wiper and big headlights with HID bulbs look also great. Excellent grey tones. Well-done Paul. |

Choreography is excellent Rusty, but probably as you used digital zoom, photo is grainy and not sharp enough. If you chose auto mode, too narrow aperture plus high ISO may cause all. Red leg wraps and red dress of rider are glamorous and I dreamed red-splash b&w. |

Selam Bill, if you worked in the American Consulate, it was in Tepebasi, Beyoglu. US Consulate is now in Istinye. I don't know any other US office in Gayrettepe as I was a baby in those years:) My father was a pilot in the Turkish Air Force with more than 30.000 flying hours. Aren't you planning a new trip to Turkey? Thanks. |

Was this a woodchopping competition? I agree with Arne about cropping from both sides and over exposure. Furthermore, it looks an exhaustive photo as it is black and white, whereas colored one is easy to view. But the story is very interesting for me. Nevertheless, I re-studied on your photo as shown on the attached. |

Thanks David. I had thought it, but glittering eyes may surpass rest of the face details and pastel gray tones. Frankly speaking, color and bnw forms of this photo are totally different and also our different monitor adjustments affect contrast and brightness perception. |

That's true Arne, mostly depends screen adjustments. Regarding darkening the beard, I could change the AEB amount for the second shot, but time was too tight and 3" camera display shows different color & brightness levels. Thanks. |

I like old bridge lamps from flaming arc ones to new led ones e.g. Brooklyn's are so decorative. It's a good idea to put flag in the middle of wires even if it is so far. Arne, where was your focus point(s) in this pic? 15mm did its job well. |

Selam Stephen; iyiyim, teÅŸekkürler. I'm pleased to learn that your wife is a Turkish lady.
I've been shooting for almost half century and education never ends. I have a photography consulting firm in Istanbul and organizing workshops, photo-walks, photo-trips. I've already noticed what you mentioned and that's definitely true. As you know, I'm a new member of PSA and studying to understand philosophy and server auto-adjustments. Frankly speaking, original bnw copy of this pic is more darker and meets your suggestions which are correct. Probably, PSA server adds some extra light in uploaded pics! Once I solved these extra adjustments, I'm going to edit my photos exclusively for PSA Galleries. Thanks for your constructive comment Stephen. You can also view my Instagram profile @atakemalsahin

It looks like 40s Chevy. I've firstly noticed starting crank hole. Impressive gray tones support nostalgia. Have you also used higher aperture - lower shutter speed? |

Great view of F16's. Weather was sunny so have you also tried wider aperture + faster shutter to ensure better sharpness? |

Great choreography Bill, congrats. I also like station shots and I'd like ask you whether you had tried a wider f to drop ISO value to eliminate grains? |

Hi Margaret, this is an Icelandic black-headed gull. I'm not sure if it is a raw or jpeg origin, but there are grains caused probably by high ISO rate. This could be eliminated with wider aperture. And -as you also mentioned- too much empty space in photo ie should be cropped. |

Great angle Jill, nevertheless, high ISO and fast shutter caused grains. Next time; set ISO min, f14-20 in AV mode and let the camera fix the shutter speed and surely you have to use a tripod for long exposure. You will enjoy the result. |
