Ian - With Photoshop there are several ways that all lead to the same direction - by going and doing layer mask.
The ricks are dull in the first place and yes in Lightroom I could have gone to the HSL - go to luminance and tweaked the yellows and oranges to make them pop a bit. My issue with this is way to many people make their image look radioactive so I tend to be more conservative with this.
What I should have done is either be their at sunrise or sunset and the rocks take on more of an orange glow.
Hope that helps |

Gary - very pleasant shot and the capture of the rocky outcropping nice. I might have taken a brush and lightened the foreground rocks - otherwise I like the way the horizon line is up. Trees are in some darker shadow which would be expected - I wish you could have been another 5 feet higher or closer to the ground as the rick and water at the center a bit close |

Ian - oh, getting up early to get a morning shot - you did well. The water movement is well done and the rock is well exposed - nice job.

Dhananjay - first of all, hope you'r doing well.
Very nice shot and the post processing done well. Very tranquil and scenic - I believe that I read in the paper of maybe it was part of a news report on TV that Godzilla came through and with his fire breath tested the hut - glad you were not in it when it happened. Ok, a very tranquil shot and I could spend several hrs in there just hanging out.
It does give a person some wonder on the amount of time those BBC photographers stay in a blind for days to get a shot. |

Barbara - Moody image, rain, dark, one may enjoy a walk in the rain. I like the reflection. I might have cropped it just to the left of the tree branch at the top and opened up the shadows a bit, like the rain drop ripples in the water. |

Sherry - Nice image. Love the sun's rays on the ridges, very cool. I do not believe that the low ISO is causing the haze - I think you should buy a Z9 and go back and shoot it again - HAHA. Anyway, very nice shot. |

Sherry - You'r absolute correct - It appears that I was more interested in the clouds and background and not paying any attention to the foreground - Well, next time |

Dhananjay What a cutie shot - lobe the lighting of the bird - so rich in color, yes the branch is a bit hot, but not a big deal for me as this is what the lighting was - but yes you could tone it down a bit - like the position and you give the bird room on the left to. move - Background nice and soft - good job. |

Bob - very nice shot and clear, sharp and well exposed. Your suggestion about sky replacement - I understand that there is software out there that does that, but question the ethics as well as being permissible in many competitions. I believe most professional wildlife photographers would think about it but the integrity of their work would be compromised. |

Thank you for your input. I disagree about the contrast as well as the cut off tail. Many animal shots that are shot both width and length are cut off, especially if the DOF is shallow. I think it's part of the photographers choose. Anyway, yes getting lower would have made it a bit more interesting |
