BIG RED - gosh you had it made - good for you. Iceland is on the list, but right now my first priority is Yellowstone in the winter. |

Gary - welcome. The sis a great shot of the frozen water on and around the lighthouse and then the accent of the red - very dramatic. Great detail and well exposed. Again, welcome to the group. |

Ian, I am reading all the comments very carefully as May 5-7 I will be in San Francisco covering the GP Sail finals. 1/4000 second - hand held - F8 - wow, I was thinking of around 1/2000 but thanks for the information.
I like the composition with the bridge and the skiff - not gives perspective - yes the light was not the best, but one takes and works with what we get. |

Barbara - welcome to the group. Yes, snow is a challenge and I usually add 2 stops as well, and it its till tricky. Just a thought - with the new mask options in LR you may be able to take the foreground and get a bit more detail - - anyway, I like the image and the red tent - there is a good story here and I think you did well in capturing it. |

Hi all - well I think the worst is over we got slammed the last two days with just short of another 2 feet - I think that makes is somewhere around 10 feet total so far and they are predicting another storm next week Wednesday or so.
As much as I love the snow like you Barbara, I am staying positive and enjoying the beauty - ha, in just a few months my wife may want to turn on the air conditioner |

Thank you all - we are safe and doing well, it helps to be prepared. I Been involved helping with emergency shelter and food distribution and well as welfare checks within the neighborhood - The rains so far are light, as opposed to northern and central California with the flooding and the snow is melting. Life is an adventure!

Dhananjay - nice shot and you have a bird on the left of the image. I wish the deer had turned his head - impressive rack of antlers.
Sorry I didn't get an image in - it started snowing around Feb 27th here in the San Bernardino Mountains of Southern Calif. and we have 8 feet in the last three weeks - many people evacuated and a real mess - and it started snowing again two days ago with another just short of two feet - |

Michelle - The otters of Morro Bay, Was this taken in the morning? Yes a shallower DOF would have made this image really sharp and you are low down among the rocks - good. |

Bob - nice job and you got two at different distances - and at f6.3 - very nice. Removing the white branches - yes you can, but ethically do you want to go there? |
