Very nice and yes the rain added to the saturation of the colors - very nice. I would agree with the cloudy sky it would have been a great shot if it was taken at 1 second or so to show the silky water using a tripod.
For composition the waterfall appears to be vertically centered and it might have been better to take the shot with it maybe more to the right showing more of the pool around the right foreground rock.
I like the striations detail in the rock - very cool. |

Lovely image and with the D850 you have the mega pixels to go 36x24 or larger and the image will hold. Love the moving water as it goes across the image and the color of the trees awesome.
What did you do in post?
It looks like that the photo was taken from a higher place like next to the road? What opportunity might you have had to climb down a bit and take the shot? |

I think the foreground is way cool but would have liked to seen more detail - possibly two exposures one for the foreground and then one for the stars.
I think the stars in the Milky Way are a bit blown out - too bright and they appear soft to me. Otherwise I love the composition and the foreground |

I like them both and can see what you are visualizing and prefer the one you selected. The concern that I have with the vertical (original) is there appears to be a branch that is gone and was distracting.
The colors are very nice and the texture of the bark is nice. I find that the amount of sky showing through on the right side taking away from the image for me.
Nicely done |

Oh my I was hopping for 1000's of wildebeast and crocks chomping.
I have done a fair amount of HDR's and just got frustrated with the look and haw the images went together especially if anything was moving. Then I went to photoshop and luminosity mask - a lot of work and then I needed to ask myself was the time worth it for what you get out of it. Also the question of what is real and how much are you putting into the image that some people would say that they are just enhancing the image or are they trying to make something so beyond real that the image becomes fake???
I like the image but for me I would have cropped the top a bit to the top of the lower cloud and that would have shifted the horizon line up. I like the movement of the water |
