I was initially a candidate for a TAVAR but at 71 and still hiking and being very active it was suggested that I go the open heart route. Yes recovery will take longer but was told I should be back to hiking by September with full recovery.
No plans of doing anything for a month or more.
Thank you |

I think I understand why you wanted to go with the bigger - more expansive shot and appreciate the tighter shot a lot more.
In photoshop you could have gone to free transform to pull the top left a bit to straighten the trees or maybe tried the vertical perspective in Lightroom. I agree with Sherry on being a sucker to moving smooth water and think you have a nice shot. |

Awesome - and then the added reflection even more awesomer. I tend to go with not having something the middle and I think I would have cropped a bit of the left to shift the reflection. You defiantly were in the right place at the right time great shot. |

Interesting shot and I like the suggestion of a bit brighter. I did a present shot of the moon one time and put a Klingon Bird of Prey in with the image - worked out great
I agree with he minimalist perspective and overall enjoy the image. |

Nice image and shooting vertical with the camera with significant overlap only way to go. PS for the horizon line - free transform
I might have played with the contrast and white balance or use the ND grad filter on the clouds in Lightroom to give a bit more punch
Nice shot |

First of all welcome to the group and sorry for the delay in responding - Had a valve replaced in the old ticker last Tuesday and got home Friday and finally responding - I am doing well but won't be allowed (maybe I will cheat ) to pick up a camera for 4-6 weeks.
Your image - 11x14 will do well and I am sure brings back many memories each time you look at it. As far was soft image - benign the ferry didn't help at all - and I think we have all been there.
The image is pleasing and I think you made a good decision on the crop and putting the horizon line low - good choice.
Again welcome to the group. |

Nice composition and the car gives perspective. Aside from some crevasse I could see myself skiing down some of those slopes. The cloud makes a nice top and has my eye going down - good exposure although I might bump the highlights a bit.
Very expansive image - I like it |

Yes I am slow getting back to everyone as well - I Had open heart surgery valve replacement last Tuesday - currently doing well and no marathons scheduled anytime soon.
I like your idea of the vertical pano - not much going on on either side os the shot anyway. I will go back to the image and check out some possibilities - thank you |

I apologize for not being responsive - Had open heart surgery last Tuesday - doing well - Yes I like the idea and as I have read the other comments (Ian's) I also am intrigued by a vertical pano.
I guess that is why I was not so crazy about the image in the first place - good suggestion. |

Very nice - Love the color and the image is sharp. Denoise - well there you have an example and it does make a difference.
As far a flipping the image - to this day I have not been given a justifiable rational other then we read from left to right and it is just more pleasing to see birds (and other critters) is that position especially for competitive judging. I am still open for the rational behind this.
I find that if this was 5 years ago that the image quality would have probably been very acceptable regardless good composition and nice image |

Again an great shot from your workshop - and agreed that there appears to be a bit of brightness in the center. Great composition and I wish I have the same opportunity |

I agree that the image does appear very flat - not much depth and yes it could have been cropped at the bottom cutting out the dry grass.
The tree is the image and as Glenn has suggested more work in post would have made this a better image. Then I have a problem with my suggestion - at what point are we altering the image to make it different from the reality of the light during when the image was taken?????? Truly a balancing act as well as deciding what your specific ethics in Digital manipulation is acceptable.
This shot was taken in low light conditions and I would go out on a limb and say family accurate of the situation.
OK, I apologize - to much ethical considerations - good composition. |

The upper and lower third were distracting so it was a not a big decision to cut this into a pano. I had the megapixels so loosing what I did didn't make any difference - I ordered a 10x30 metal print and it is just amazing. |
