Agree very nice image and the weals of the building are straight, meaning that the lens you used did not distort the walls. I might have taken out the power line going across the image on the left.
I don't know how much you cropped the image but I would like to see a bit more on the left showing the tree a bit better.
Your work feels like you put a lot into the planning stages (Time of day) to get the postcard image - very nice. |

This is a great image showing the power of the waves crashing on to the rocks. The time of day appears to be later on in the afternoon and the light that comes through the wave is great.
Do yo have any images at a slower shutter speed? It would be interesting to see some movement in the water as a comparison. |

I have never been to Australia but this is a shot that I would expect to be in a travel magazine. The romance walking along and seeing the sky with the lighting of the opera house - very nice. Only question, is your horizon line flat? It feels that it is tilting a bit down on the left of the image or is it the 20mm lens? |

Nice capture of textures, colors and movement. The image is sharp and great exposure and tells a story of survival - very nice. |

Matt -
Wow what a great shot and how fortunate to find a heart gas bubble - way cool.
I tend to agree that maybe a bit much on the pink but a stunning image! |

Again nice image. The image is sharp and well exposed. I understand why you kept the log in as it does give the image a sense of place (environmental perspective) on the other hand I think you would agree with me that you need to go back to the same location and photograph the spot a bit closer without the log so we can compare. Maybe do a pano.
I think it is a very nice shot and it would be interesting if you were standing more to the right with the lighthouse more to the left. |

I like the image - simple and to the point. You did a great job of the exposure and capturing the sky that has some character to it.
If possible can you go back to the same spot and take the image a bit lower - removing the path from behind the tree that goes to the right and crop the white rocks or what ever they are out.
Not sure there is enough over tonality to the image to turn it into a B&W but a thought.
You capture a nice image showing a winter environment that is drab yet with the one conifer tree giving color. Cool |

Your were very fortunate to have your camera at hand. Not a good day for the pigeon. The wider image shows more of the environment and not sure I prefer the crop version. One might say that the two grass blades are distracting and yes you could use content aware to remove them - not sure I would do that.
I can see that you were looking down at the sparrow hawk - wish you could have been lower to the ground - regardless a very nice image. |

Very cool shot and that you turned it into a B&W is very nice. The clouds make the shot otherwise if it was on a cloudless day it would not have the impact that it does. I do agree that there is a tad bit much contrast - kinda looks like the old HDR images.
I am not to go on about Nature etc - all ready done there.
I might have cropped a bit off the top to get below the top white cloud and a bit on the left.
Over all I like the drama and nice image. |

Very cute image with mother and calf. Were you hand holding when you took the shot? Could explain why the image is a bit off in sharpness. The high sunlight is not helping the image either. I know that just because the sun is high one would not take the photo but a lower angle of the sun would have helped a lot. Still a very cute image. |

Nice and sharp and you can see the water droplets in the grass. The owl is tack sharp and good exposure. You don't say much as to where or what lens you used etc.
Not sure how much crop but I might add a bit more space on the right. The expression on the owl is great and you can see it is interested or just looking around - very cool moment. |

Yes welcome to the group.
Very nice shot and you captured the moment. Yes the tail is a bit out of focus but not an issue for me since this is not a competition. Good color and exposure and yes it would probably be better if the bird was facing us in the image, other wise you got it. Very nice |

Margaret - Thank you for the input. You are correct that the background lighting is distracting and not much I can do about that. The two branches in the top left corner - yes I could use content aware, but there is a part of me that believes that by doing so starts crossing the line on ethics. |

Thank you. It's been a hoot to watch the pair building the nest. Our two cats watch with tail flicking back and forth. Fun |
