I thank you all so many times we are told that clouds make an image, create drama etc. then there are times that the weather doesn't cooperate. That is ok. But does that mean you go home, not get out your camera? Certainly not!
Having been an educator for 33 years my best times is when the students are out in the environment. We must ask a fundamental question, are we lovers of our environment and the photography is secondary - icing on the cake or is getting the photograph more important than the experience.
Thank you |

Some suggestions - I cropped the image, dropped down the highlights increased the blacks and opened up the shadows and added a bit of vibrance in Lightroom.

First of all I like how the foreground water and rocks leads you up. Composition within the trees as bracket nicely done.
Suggestion along with Sherry - Polarizing filter would have taken out a lot of the reflection in the water and the sky would have popped a lot more giving the clouds more definition and shape.
Agreed that bracketing would have helped with the high dynamic range but the reflection would still be in the water. |

Awesome shot - the sun burst is way cool and the colors really pop. Really like the combination of the water foreground and the background - great shot. |

I think this is one of those iconic shots and very nicely done. I agree with Sherry it does appear that there is some CA going on and is a bit distracting.
Really enjoy the reflections of the lights in the water - very nice. |

Interesting shot - light painting is a combination of art and luck and a lot of practice. So this image cost you $50 not bad.
I think I would have cropped it on the right up to the bright star top middle. That would have pushed the tree to the right and the Milky Way from bottom left to top right.
I like the sky and the color. Good job. |

Great composition and love the layers in the image. The light reflection off the buildings you nailed it. The image is nice and sharp and the foreground with the trees adds to the contrast.
I might have tweeted the clouds a bit to give them more character. |

Nice photo and commend you on getting up at 4am. It was nice that the weather cooperated by putting that cloud with the sun. Love the colors in the sky and the lighthouse glow of the bulb is way cool.
I think I might have opened up the shadows a bit but otherwise very nice shot. |
