Ian - great dynamics and you can feel that there is a storm out there. Horizon feels a bit high on the right. Maybe print of a mat and you can get around the pixelation. Again such intensity - like it |

Very nice - not a fan of drones but like the texture. I think the highlights in the snow is a bit much and great contrast from the mountains to the farmland. |

Love it and I do not mind that it is sky dominant. I might try the dehaze a tad and bring out some luminosity on the orange to give it a bit of pop.
A few years back we had the opportunity to go but it rained the 4 days were there - just an excuse to go back again. |

Larry, great explanation on the Pre-visualization. I know that I have ruined a number of great shots by just taking the photo without looking around and "seeing" what is there. It is critical to see what are some issues as well as paying attention to know what your subject is and not have competition with it.
It does appear that the consensus is that the flowers helps frame the image maybe a bit too much of not at all. Your call.
The foreground rock, I go with having a strong anchor in the foreground, but it the bottom is cut off then I think you have captured the image in your post on 6-6.
Very nice |

Dhananjay - I like the backlighting and I think this adds to the image. I would crop some of the bottom a bit that would take the flowers from being in the horizontal center and dropping them a bit. |

Well after all those great comments I am supposed to add something? Well here it goes. I love the clouds and I agree that I would crop only some of the top, some off the bottom because for me it is not doing much. Agreed to bring in the sides. tad to take out the foliage on either side and straighten the horizon. like this. Just my thoughts. |

Glen - agreed about the crop and background is non distracting. You'r flash - did you have a diffuser on? I see a hot spot on the bridge of the nose. I also agree on cropping some of the top. Great detail around the head and eye and yes the sharpness fairs away from the neck back but not to much of an issue - maybe if you were using a tripod you could have taken two images and stacked them to get more DOF.
My concern is that if you did that then a judge might ding you on the one pack of foliage at the bottom going right that was cut off - my issue would be that this is not studio photography - nature!
Very nice image and I like it but showing the complete right foot and nails is better |

Margaret Well great try and you already know the image is not as sharp as it could be and yes midday has some challenges as well. I would like to make one suggestion - I know in the field using a tripod is kinda a pain, have you considered a monopod? It can give you a lot more success that hand holding and they are easy to use. Another positive is holding your camera gets kind of heavy after a while and using the monopod helps with the fatigue in the arms. |

Welcome aboard.
The image is sharp and good job but I agree that the face is a bit soft. Your focus point should be the eyes and it looks like your focus point was a bit lower along the shoulder. Background above the head is distracting and my eye wants to keep going there. Good detail in the wood where he is standing and in the feet. I would also recommend a higher ISO so your shooting around 1/500. Colors and very nice |

It sounds like you were on a tour and completely understand those kinds of situations - you get one chance and that is it. I guess that is why with nature photography we go back again and again.
Your technique is good - no camera shake and yes the foreground owl could have been a bit more agreeable - oh well. The out of focus rocks - bummer but the eyes and feathers age great. |
