The textures, color contrast, balance is so appealing. I assume you achieved that nice rich black background by using a flash? f29 suggests not. How did you do this? |

I love cityscapes and this is one to love. Crop sensors have become so good that I, too, am now shooting with a crop sensor (but with high pixel count) and am very pleased with the results. My image this month comes from that. The unlit building in the center of the image and the space behind it seem a bit out of synch with the rest of the well lit rest of the image, creating a dead space. I could argue that this is what actually creates the two vectors of lights that move to the background. I also cropped the top a bit so the top is just above the bright clouds. Finally (sorry to be so annoying) I see great image potential in the road/bridge on the right side leading to the squiggly in the road at the end. |

I could ge lost in this image...for quite some time. Lovely. Not to be too much of a heretic, the white spots could have darker shades cloned in so the visual distraction is reduced. Another radical thought, the bottom third cropped off eliminates the water pattern, but emphasizes the sky and strongest reflection. |
