This is fun....not as much fun as this girl is having, but a really good conveyance of the fun. It is very hard to capture the moment and have the background you would like. A wider aperture (as Gregory suggests) maybe stepping to the girl's side so the background is less cluttered, or, photoshop and photoshop elements both allow you to remove the background and replace it with whatever you want, but something else from the area where you were would work, I think. |

I could spend the day at this site. The "knees" of the trees, their droopy canopy, the colorful flowers, and so on. There are many pictures to be found here. This overall shot opens the door to so much. If you have a high megapixel sensor you probably can spend some delightful time with this image and play "find another image". What a lovely place. I have to go there. |

I love the capture of this beautiful bird. And I like the cropped image. |

I love the serenity. I would advocate some cropping, as well. But, my suggestion is more radical. I suggest some different ratios. I would crop the sky, as suggested by others,. The I suggest having the pilings and the duck occupy more of the image. To do this crop in from the right side. Yes, it removes some of the sandbar, but I think the tradeoff will be worth it by increasing the impact of the three components (sandbar, duck, pilings) on the image. All this, of course, if totally subjective and you have succeeded in sending a serenity message as it is. |
