10 Feb 23 Comment I like the image. At first it seemed to me a bit static. Flipping it horizontally helps a lot, I think. K. Clemons' observation is that if the main interest is on the left, the eye can wonder out of the image. In flipping it, my eye at least stops at the more interesting rivet. Feb 17th
10 Feb 23 Comment Great Bee. For me, the background is too bright; the first thing I saw was the purple. I toned it down using the color and luminescence rage options in LR, and using the global Luminescence, brightened the yellow. Feb 17th
10 Feb 23 Comment Great egret. Blurring the background is easy in LR -- just select background, lower texture, clairty, contrast. I would clone out the grass over the beak. Feb 17th
10 Feb 23 Comment I love what you did to the image. It would be nice to see the original, but it sounds like this is a vast improvement over the original. Love that it is taken at the dog's level. The feet are a bit problematic. If the grass were more integrated with the feet it would be better. Feb 17th

80 Feb 23 Comment I prefer the yellow version. I find the submitted one a little confusing -- for me, the background is so mysterious that it detracts attention away from the center. About the color: My wife who sees colors far better than I do first comment was that no dahlia has that color. Is there a way to increase the intensity of the center? Feb 18th
80 Feb 23 Comment I darkened the background too much. Bringing out various HSL Luminence sliders & not decreasing the exposure so much in the background, & playing with other sliders in the background helps. Feb 17th
80 Feb 23 Comment Yes, nice job on presenting the flower. The shadows are a bit harsh. In Kathleen Clemons's phrase, shadows should be gradations of color. A diffuser would have soffened the shadows. Feb 15th
80 Feb 23 Comment Nice shot. I would consider this crop. Also, increasing the luminence of the middle of the flowers (I used to tool -- I think mostly red luminescence). Also increase texture & clarity of background. Feb 15th
80 Feb 23 Comment Great. YOu may consider blurring the lower pedal that is so well in focus. That's the problem with selective focus so often. What you don't want so well in focus ends of on the same plain. Feb 15th
80 Feb 23 Comment Love it. I like my crop -- you don't want to loose too much. And I increased Luminescence of some colors. Feb 15th
