10 Aug 22 Reply I went to their site. There is Fractilius One, 2, and 4G. Which would you recommend? Aug 22nd
10 Aug 22 Reply What I had in mind was just adding a little more at the top, but clearly there are many possibilities. Aug 17th
10 Aug 22 Comment Love the image. Do you have more at the bottom? It would be nice to see the hood opening line. It's not quite centered. If you click on it, one can see that with the word "close." I know, sometimes it's impossible to center an image.
I rather like centered images, so that doesn't disturb me.
PS -- My image this month is not centered. Someone had to point it out to me.

10 Aug 22 Comment I like the composition and the look of the flower. It really does need more at the bottom (the petal looks like it's touching) and a little more on the left. Also, I use Topaz AI Sharpen quite a bit. I would sharpen just the center (& last ring of the stuff outside the center). You can do this in PS of course by blocking out the sharpening from the rest of the flower. Aug 17th
10 Aug 22 Comment Do you have any more at the top? Could it be added in Photoshop? This could be a very nice image with more at the top. Did you try the Dehaze slider? Aug 17th
10 Aug 22 Reply Even if it is not an accurate depiction of what you saw, a straight horizon line is, I think, important. What I meant by the water draining off to the left is that if water (horizon) is tilted, that's the way water would flow. Aug 13th
10 Aug 22 Reply No, I don't. I have some photography friends who use Topaz Studio, but they were surprised at this. Aug 13th
10 Aug 22 Reply Don't try to update it. If you update it to Studio II, you loose the original Studio. Aug 13th
10 Aug 22 Comment Nice shot! I like the blurred horizon. However, think the hills beyond that could be brought out more.

Is this straight? It may be an illusion, but it looks like the water is draining off to the left just a little.

80 Aug 22 Reply I can't post the bottom image; I will check with Bob. Aug 14th
80 Aug 22 Reply These are the other two images that at this point I plan to submit. If published, they would be staked on the page opposite Leafscape 27 Any comments on any weaknesses you see are appreciated. Aug 14th
80 Aug 22 Reply Here is the second. Aug 14th
80 Aug 22 Comment Interesting comments. I'm reminded of the Buddha's holding a flower silently for an hour while everyone was wondering what it meant. Finally, someone realized that the Buddha just wanted everyone to see a beautiful flower.

The main weakness for me is the diamond shaped negative space in the center. I would clone an opening between the dead flower & the live one.

Also, I prefer the soft background in the original, as the boundaries between the colors are too clearly shown.

And, I miss the water drops on the flower in the edited one.

All that being said, I was quite favorably impressed by the impressionistic look when I saw it.

80 Aug 22 Comment I think this would be a fine image if the center were lit at least as well as the pedals. Also, the pedal covering up part of the center does not add to it. I like the idea of shooting it with the sky as background. Aug 12th
80 Aug 22 Comment This leaf was formed by nature. I collect "mature" hosta leaves from our local botanical park. Last year I was too late -- they had taken them away. I dry further at home. I shoot them on a black background with continuous reflected light. Last year I hot a photo into their publication "Our Magnificent Planet." The same photo won 1st place MId Atlantic Photo Visions macro category, and in B&H's Optic 21 contest -- with $1000 of equipment prizes! Here it is. Aug 10th
