What I did was not traditional I circled it with the circular tool in LR (I forget its name). I have it set so it afftects the area outside the circle. Turned down the exposure from the tool, and turned up the overall exposure. I love the fading Dahlia. |

I agree with the cropping suggestion -- makes it a wonderful photo. |

Eons ago I took a BPSOP photoshop class with Lee Varis. Way above my head; would still be. However, he did go into agonizing detail about how to make a subject look like it fits into the background. The color values for the photos have to be the same, shadows, etc.and etc. He offers classes from his web site. His site - varisonlinemediaonlinecourses166teachable.com
His wife's - bobilane.com She gave a great on line flash webinar |

I only focus stacked what I wanted in focus - the center, not even all the way down on the center pedals. Everything that is in the same plane as the center is in focus. At f2.0, the fall off in focus is extreme. |

The whole point of this image was to have as quick and total drop off in focus as possible -- sort of a Lensbaby effect. I actually tried one at F1.4, but however good that lens is at higher F stops, it was too out of focus at F1.4. |
