The blue is the vase. I thought it needed to come from something, but you are all right -- the blue ends up being distracting. As currently cropped, Donna is right, it could use more in front. But my wife suggested this crop, which takes care of the blue and increases Calcifer's presence. What do you think of it? |

Great opportunity to shoot. I know nothing about bird photography, but it seems that the shutter speed is too slow. High ISO, faster shutter speed? |

Great shot. Did you try this with different amounts of silky water? |

For this image to work for me, more of the center would need to show, and be in focus. The softness of the rest of the image is nice. I would prefer more contrast with the background -- it almost merges and for me is difficult to look at. Maybe making it darker or a vignette would work. |

I always am (mostly unsuccessfully) trying for edges like this. Love it! I do not find the dark distracting; the red is. A quick trip to Photoshop, content aware produced this:

My wife's objection to my images is that it's just another flower centered in a black background. I have not problem with your's being off center, but the proportions are not what I would like. I hope I successfully downloaded my suggested crop. I like the tranquility of this image. |
