Hi Becca, I am pausing between wedding plans for my daughter this month to comment. I like the original crop, it gives more information of the driftwood and balance to the crow. I see that you removed a rock but did you crop it out or remove it in PS? I love the title. The face on the driftwood is very clear. Crows are very intelligent, so it makes me wonder what the bird is thinking. I would also crop out the reflection in the water of the crow's legs and feet; it is not a complete reflection due to the sand bit in the water, and so my mind is trying to put it together instead of seeing the interaction of the main subjects. |

Hi Jon, this has a funny title, and your story points out the degree to which photographers have to work around tourists getting in the way! Of course those phone booths are interesting and remind me of the Tardis from Dr. Who. How very English. The photo is well done in perspective, and the identifying sign of the street lets everyone know it is an original. Sharp focus, nice color balance and simply fun. |

I have large windows by my dining room, and I wish I had the forest this photo depicts! Is that a real dog - possibly a dachshund in the lower left? While I am appreciative of the IR, and the room, I think the cut off chandelier is strange on the ceiling. It is interesting how IR brought out the grain of the wood in the table. Sorry I missed this if this is the 2nd time you posted it! |

This photo has so much to see. I really like the winding path that leads the eye to the background of trees and the sky with fluffy little clouds. Infrared does a great job of detail on the trees. This is well focused, and I am finding a lot of balance. At first I wondered about the rock in the lower left corner, but then realized it is balanced by the larger rock in the middle left and there is a triangle with the rock farther down the path. With the bridge and small pagoda structure you realize it is a Japanese garden. Well done. |

I have never heard of the series, but I find it amusing that the model is shaking the missing arm of the manikin, possibly unaware of where it came from. I think your darkening of the outside areas of the pipe (?) vent (?) add a mysterious element. If I were taking this shot, I would have asked the model to put a startled look on her face, or at least more serious look. Perhaps it is because I don't know te backstory, but if I was starving from an after-Armeggedon world disaster I'd would not be grinning. |

I also like the original because I think the sky is important to balance the photo. It has a nice color which parallels the water. The reflection of the trees at the top of the rock is confusing since the trees aren't in the processed photo. I agree with Karl the boats if made by a crop to be off-center would create a stronger visual scene. I really like the calm feeling of this landscape. |

Hi, I will comment quickly in between wedding plans for my daughter this month = so I didn't share a photo. I see the outline of a frog in the original photo. Dolow the darkened lines. Or it could be a dinosaur coming out of the ooze. How fascinating a subject! I really like the bubbles. I agree the contrast could be stronger, and I prefer the first photo to the flipped one Karl has shown. |
