Lucky you, where do you live that such a wonderfully colored bird could visit? I love the tilt of his/her head and the highlight in it's eye - you captured a moment where it is eating? or damaging the feeder? Either way, great shot! |

I am not taken in by the grasses in the forefront. I think I would have found the lake a beautiful place, and it is quiet, but the grass is distracting to me. |

Definitely a moody photo, nice silhouette. How would I know without the title that it is Havana? Is the person wearing a hat? What is the white spot on the hat? Is that the reflection of a tablet or phone? |

I'm not sure why Puffins are so attractive, perhaps because they have the clownish colors and face with a teardrop? This is a lovely shot with details of the dirt and feathers, nicely done. I really like that you are showing the environment and nesting burrow of the bird. |

It is a wonderful place to visit! Nice portrait, and the hair is outstanding. (pun intended). Oh my,I wonder what her servant looked like? |

This is a great shot, and well processed from your description. I am curious about how you removed the glare and got the sky onto the reflection of the window? |

It was raining that day, so I will have to look at the sky again; thanks for seeing that. |

Freddie, I agree with you. This image won't be in a competition because of the rules, but sometimes you have to break a few rules...to get art. |

Thanks Judith. I intentionally submitted this to start a discussion! So part of "drawing the line" between photography and art - or graphic art - has to do with "finding the relationship between the photograph and the processed image". I have wondered about 3-D photos that are visible only with special glasses. Closer to the "real" image. The math and digital manipulation is simply something we can't see. |

Every digital camera that we are using is based on mathematics that are beyond my comprehension. So when we create art using them, we are capturing the world we inhabit. So where do we draw the line? |

To my eye yes, or a thin white line might help. |

Very cool rendition of a bridge like an etching. No, it isn't too busy - bridges are busy but this one could lead to a magical land. Well done! |

Good eye, and a close up almost of macro since you can see the grain of wood in the clothespins. I still use some for clipping a bag of chips or veggies closed; I wonder if my children and theirs will ever see a real clothesline?
Back to the image...I like the darkness...but I find the frame around the image distracting. |
