27 Oct 22 Reply I tried darkening the foreground, but found that it brought out the details of the blurred rock more than the bird. I also had a hard time uploading the photo, sorry. Good suggestion, but didn't work this time. Oct 15th
27 Oct 22 Reply The bird was posed on the rock. I am not sure unless the bird moved how I would have shot more of it. Also I wanted the bird, not the leather jesses (?sp) to show. Oct 12th
27 Oct 22 Reply You got it. Oct 11th
27 Oct 22 Reply I think I would remove the one hanging above the water and on the right side. Oct 10th
27 Oct 22 Comment Beautiful Swallowtail. I'd put that in the title, it deserves the species name. I like the delicate legs and touch on the plant. You have a great Gaussian blur background. Perhaps the black line could be removed in Photoshop? Oct 9th
27 Oct 22 Comment We just returned from Michigan, but I haven't had time to process the color! This is lovely. What settings did you use? Did you have an ND filter to smooth the water? Nit picky, but I would remove the dead branch above the green on the right side. Oct 9th

35 Oct 22 Reply Thanks Stuart! So sorry to hear about your wife's health issues. Hope to see you another conference. Oct 23rd
35 Oct 22 Reply Thanks! I agree a higher crop would work. I am still meesing around with the colors. Oct 18th
35 Oct 22 Reply You are welcome. I think looking at the original the light source is on the left, look at the shadows. Oct 18th
35 Oct 22 Comment Beautiful composition. Great choice in IR. The only suggestion is to add a margin of space at the apex of the roof. You can do that in PS with the crop tool and then content aware. I would consider toning down the highlights on the bushes too. Oct 18th
35 Oct 22 Comment Nice composition. I'm not a farmer, I don't know what the object in the foreground is.?? Is this a vineyard? There is one point of light above the trees on the right. Did you add that? The shadows on the crop rows would not be on both sides if that is the light source. Or are those furrows? Warm Autumn colors using IR - very nice. Oct 18th
35 Oct 22 Comment I like the simple lines and way that the grasses have such nice detail. When you removed the building, (was it at the top of the umbrella?) if you used content aware, there are a few leaves that got copied and then it looks like you darkened it. I would try to stamp more leaves or take those out, and then there would not be leaves floating in the air. Picky, but they are visible. Oct 18th
35 Oct 22 Comment How nice to find a red tree~ Our Autumn in Seattle has been dismally brown due to lack of rain. I like the way you have increased the highlights from the original. Also a nice vignetter on the bottom corners. The clouds are dimmed, and I would suggest bringing them back, because this could easily be interpreted as a plant instead of a tree, and the clouds give the tree perspective. Oct 18th
