Yep, you hit my scary spot on. Probably because I don't care for snakes either, and without the title that is what I thought he was. Nevertheless, thank you for a sharp, clear, and well done photo. It is nice that his head is on top of brown tones that are in that scaly skin. |

I like the texture and the colors of the gradient across the texture. I am not sure about the shadows in the lower left; they don't seem to come from the flowers. |

This is beautifully delicate and your method of using the petals enlarged as a background is delightful. It makes the flower emerge from the background. Usually, I don't like strokes to frame a photo, but you have kept this delicate like the flower and a shade or two darker. I am not familiar with the flower - where is it grown? |

Thanks all of you! I just wondered if there was more I could do. I had one person in my photo club comment that he was concerned about those bikers and cars coming on...and how did I get the bridge without any cars? Well, it was about 7am in the morning... |

Rust is always fascinating with the patterns it creates. I like this element. Just think of how many places we use steel - how many bridges do we drive over, skyscraper buildings! I like the idea of the strength of this image and the sadness of what it has become. The ladder on the right gives a perspective of size too. I was going to say to crop it, but on 2nd thought keep it!! |

Brad, I read that you wanted the cabin to pop. First, I took your photo back into Silver Efex Pro, and used a Fine Art Filter that pulled out the details. Next to make the cabin pop, I put a control point on the front of the cabin and increased contrast and brightness. Then I went back to Photoshop. I added a dodge and burn layer (Overlay, 80%grey, on 30% brush with black) and darkened the foreground. Is this better? |

Ok, I just learned a bit of history. These planes were torpedo bombers that hit the USS Arizona during the attack on Pearl Harbor. So I was going to suggest that you straighten it, but now it makes more sense to see it going down as if to bomb something with that torpedo! |

She did say it was an old Japanese airplane.

Well, I think I know why they are there. They are placed strategically so that a vehicle can't go through the area, probably in this case the arches in the background. Unfortunately, bomb threats have caused this sort of thing, but at least they are using something artistic instead of a concrete rectangular block. I think the light rectangle and rectangular tiles are great as a contrast to the sphere and the curve of the arches. A niggly point, the grass clump on the upper left is distracting. You have a lovely abstract with just the shapes! |

I agree with the above comments. I also like that wispy cloud, and might brighten it a bit more. |

Judith, you are amazing in what you see! I shoot an Olympus camera that can be set to focus stack and then produce in camera a .jpg, or you can use the multiple images (up to 100) to be run through Photoshop or Xerene Stacker apps. It is very handy for macro work to have it set to automatically create the image from a stack! |

OK, so what is a Song Title Exhibit??...You have created a lovely pun with your art. A picky thing is I would work on taking the "Annies" logo off the bottle...unless that is the name of your love.
"If I could save time in a bottle
The first thing that I'd like to do
Is to save every day 'til eternity passes away
Just to spend them with you…" |

Hi Freddie. This is just totally cool. I love the colors and the TEXTURE, the ability to imagine, as our group has done, a story. |

Hi Lynne,
I like the softness of this shot, and I think I have been reading too many mystery novels, because the shape of the orchid's structure reminds me of a pelvic bone. Ha, that is so different from Judith's seeing creatures in it!! |

This makes me think of Matthew 7:9 9 "Which of you, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? 11 If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him! 12 So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets."
Your portrayal of hands pleading, asking, and getting something else is well done. We often get in life the unexpected, and this reminds the viewer...We don't always get what we want; perhaps what we need. |

Judith, what a great interpretation of a hot day and surviving flower. Looking at the original, and your final, I can see how the artist in you emerged with the story. Now to be picky, I think you cut off the 2nd smaller flower, leaving the stem. I think it has to be all or none; the stem is just not quite right in the way it disappears at the end. Also above the flower the background has something disconnected floating in space. You flipped the image and lowered the subject; I am wondering if a landscape crop could still give the same effect. |
