One more aside comment: the love for orchids can drive people crazy. I just read "The Orchid Thief" and then saw the movie "Adaptation". Weirdly strange and yet engaging. |

Lovely detail - the sharpness has the hairs of the petal lip precisely framed. I think the background you can see some of the pixels, maybe you could smooth them out with a denoise program. |

Definitely long horns, and I don't think I'd cross one. The wire removal was successful. |

Whoa, this guy made me think, "What did I do wrong?"!! Great intense stare, and I like the hat and hair. I might have made his hair even on both sides by asking him to change whether it was behind or in front of his shoulders. |

I agree with Danny. Another trick with rusty trucks is to shoot them in HDR -it will bring out the colors and textures of rust. Welcome to the Palouse! |

Wonderful composite, and I appreciate being able to get the whole process of the eclipse in one shot. I think the lighthouse is more interesting, although I would tone down the brightness of the light in the lighthouse, it distracts from the moons. This photo has a nice sense of balance. |

Thanks, I caught the squiggle after posting. It was raining, and I think that might be water on my lens! |

Hi, Looking at the original there are three heads, only two in the one you posted. Is that the correct original or did you take one out in Photoshop? Doing live animals in IR is a challenge. Have you been in Derrick Story's class? He is a great resource for IR. |

We have been there. I hear Chuck's comment, I think the keystoning could be easily corrected and helpful. |

I suggest that you crop it so the peak doesn't end up in the middle...maybe on the left and then the eye flows up and over an to the other darker range on the right. Great clouds! |

This really had a nice range of tones and I imagine was the result of a hike? Well worth the effort. I like the way the trunk is lighted, and the sky pops out with a cloud leading the eye to the top branches. Well Done! |

Hi Chuck, I shoot a 590 converted Olympus camera and at the time was using my 12 - 40 mm lens on it; which converts to 24 - 80 mm since it is micro 4/3. Sorry I forgot to post the original, I did send it later to Debbie but she said it was too difficult and time consuming to add it. Here is the original: |

Gerard, Yep, that is too assertive for me - and a completely different image when you add a bold purple. I would think the intent was softness and bringing out the lighter tones of pink in the tulip. I like her background. |

Karl, the piece that appears metallic is actually the other bench on the side of the room. It had full light on it, so although it matched the opposite side, it appears differently. I think I might darken it - any ideas on how?

Hmmm...you are asking for a better title? Would the spider eat the ant? Hiding in Plain Sight? |

I agree with Gerard that the eye is the striking part of this image. What I find confusing is the light through the rods of the chair, which I think are going into it's head. Maybe it would work to tone the brightness of those lines down a bit. I like him just the color he is, and wonder how many years he will live - some live for 100 years. |

This is a beautiful, soft impressionistic image of a tulip. I love the fact you created your own texture, and nailed the colors that would make the tulip glow. |

Welcome to the group! How fun to see the dancers pick up their pink skirts and twirl! I think you have just made one of my favorite plants more interesting. |

Judith, you have inspired me to try some frozen techniques as I have seen others do this too. I like the lime green colors which give it a nice texture. At first I thought the white spot was distracting, but now I am thinking it is like a sun or moon. It is nice to see the post processing from your original (I keep forgetting to post mine). I was impressed with the frozen in time sense of motion. What happened to the stem of the leaf? |
