I caught that. What I meant was that you could mask off just the land and lighten some of the darker areas. Silver Efex Pro lets you have control points - it would bring out some more of the information in the photo without losing the mood. |

Nice shot. It reminds me of the posters of women from different countries I had in my Language Arts classroom. What an interesting turn our photography is taking as we stay at home...I am going to have to dust off a few more things and try this. Very fun. |

I am coming in late, so ditto to what they said! When I have a "quick shot" I stick it on Aperture Priority", auto ISO, and hope for the best. |

Beautiful image. You processed it well, and I love the colors and texture of the leopard's fur. the left eye is darker than the right and could be lightened a bit. Such a relaxed pose. What a great shot for a last hurrah of travel before the pandemic hit! |

Aha, so here is a graffiti shot that includes context, and I am learning how my own previous photos I wish I had included someone walking by. I really like the thought of the contrasting social values of a monk and a henna artist; good catch. This reminds me almost of a charcoal sketch, and I like your monochrome choice. I would wonder if there is a way to lighten more the monk's face, because he is overwhelmed by the woman's face. Very interesting, and intriguing. |

I just took a class from Thibault Roland on long exposure, so my thinking and reactions are biased. Thibault likes to layer multiples of the same image for long exposure in Silver Efex Pro, bringing them into Photoshop and using masks. I think you could do the same effect with layers of dodge and burn, or playing around with the focal points in Silver Efex Pro. What you have done is fine, but not the full potential of the photo in my mind. There are dark areas in the land that could be lighter with more information. Very dramatic photo in its intensity of contrasts. |

Jon, the image was taken at night and the stars were certainly not added! Our cameras can see way more than the human eye. That really is the way the night sky would appear if we didn't have competing light pollution from man-made lights. This is in one of the darkest areas on earth, in the middle of the desert - the stars really were very bright.

thank you for your excellent suggestions. I would be interested in seeing what you could do with the image. It was processed in Lightroom, where I did try to reduce the noise at 100% then in Photoshop with the plug-in On-1 Effects, which brought out the stars but also the grain. I'd be curious to see what you would do with adjustments, please go ahead!
