Wow, this is fun science and photography at the same time. It reminds me of the perseverance some of my older friends take with crystal photography through a microscope. Or water droplets. How fast would something have to move to be invisible to the human eye? See: https://www.visiondirect.co.uk/blog/how-fast-can-we-see
Freezing the action of an orange breaking and juice flying; or an egg dropping or wine spilling...or something going into a deep fat fryer...this suggests all kinds of possibilities! |

Wonderful background idea - at first glance I wondered if it was a purchased digital background. Take note of the edge of your image, and where the highlighted points in the background intersect - there is some effect that might be considered fringing. I would definitely "prune" the flowers back where they go out of the frame. I am not a fan of digital borders - and on my monitor the color is not ideal - even if it is the color of the leaves. I'd experiment with different color or none at all. |

Take some time to smell the roses~!! I like the message in this image too. Actually this rose reminds me of ones I had growing up they were climbing up to the bedroom window. If you were to work on post-processing, I would tone down the leaf on the left and darken the burgundy on the bottom. Nice, sharp capture and I do want to smell it!

I think if you wanted grunge, you got it. Personally I really like the images without that filter; particularly Original 2. So this could be several image interpretations. You have a great landscape there. Perhaps giving it some time (like several months of quarantine) when that is over will give you a different perspective? I just think the colors are wonderful in Original 2 and too dark in your final image. You have lost the bluish green and the light on the dust storm.

The lines on the left give a sense of motion. I too have been distracted from the dirty window effect. I would like to see this image with more contrast, and some de-haze; not too much but enough so that it doesn't seem like it is overexposed yet still seen through a window. I don't understand the title; solidarity means "unity or agreement of feeling or action, especially among individuals with a common interest; mutual support within a group". This photo has more to do with being not solid = hollow, vapor, gaseous if taken literally; or the opposite of solidarity which is disenfranchised, discord, disagreement. The photo has a lack of unity; so is the title sarcastic or ironic? |

I love th title. It took me a while to figure out the pigeon pins things...and the saturation definitely brings out the details, including the pipe going inside the larger one - it reminds me of a clarinet. If you were to print this, I'd go with a shiny paper! |

Hi Judith,
I knew you would get it. You have to think a little harder about those jars. They are homemade, canned vegetables. Goes back to the times of The Depression, and my mother taught me to save everything - when things were scarce, and fresh veggies more precious. I thought they were a nice contrast to the peppers. |

This was done a bit tongue in cheek. Of course the jars are pickled carrots and cauliflower - which is quarantine are a symbol of the need to conserve. I did have fun composing the still life. The coronavirus started my practice now of literally washing my vegetables. Although I admit the spray bottle has bleach in it and I didn't use that for the peppers. I think monochrome was a choice because the quarantine is so serious; otherwise the colors in this were like a summer day. |
