First, I apologize beforehand, I am new to this group (and PSA for that matter) and this is my very first comment. I don't really like to critique, but I do have some observations. Love the leading lines with the curve of the steam. That draws the eye right deep into the picture. The 3 groups of boats is also well spotted. I think this image works well both in color and B/W and I would probably process both provided you are able to get detail in the sky in the color version. Otherwise just replace the sky with something more dramatic. As far as this B/W version goes. To me it seems the image could profit from little bit more drama. It is a little flat imo. Increasing the contrast in the rocks on the right and the houses on the left might help. You can also play with the color sliders in the B/W conversion layer. Probably yellow and blue. May be some red. Having said that, I like the image and would look good on anybody's wall |
