Hello Randal, with the shore in a picture one need to be always careful, only with an open sea-horizon one must pay attention that the water is not running out of the picture. One can though see if a picture with a reflection is correctly horizontal, because corresponding points must be in a vertical line, and here in my picture it is indeed a few degrees off - thank you for observing! |

All the good and correct things are written above, only to my taste there is too much foreground, cutting out the bottom a bit gives more balance in the horizontal layers? |

Nice shot, the bird is indeed dark, always when shooting a dark object in a light environment (high contrast) you need to adjust the light measurement, in such cases I always use spot metering - connected to the focus point.
Maybe also straighten the pole? |
