50 May 24 Reply Thanks, Mary Ann. I used "Portrait" mode on my iPhone. Shoots in jpg but at a shallower depth of field (that can be adjusted actually in camera). I usually import my images into LR and do post there and/or in PS and sometimes in NIC.
My phone didn't come with at RAW feature (?) but I recently installed an app to shoot raw. That being said, I haven't totally left my Nikon DSLR and my Fujifilm mirrorless behind.

50 May 24 Comment Mary Ann, I like this, especially in BW. I like the way you have brought out the textures in the old truck but also in the foliage and the clouds. The sky in the centre frame appears a tiny bit blown out on my screen but, rather than finding it distracting, I thought it provided some nice back-lighting for the truck. Your choice of focal length (32 mm) gives an interesting "in-your-face" quality to the subject and I like your closely cropped composition. Great job, IMHO. May 25th

50 May 24 Reply Wow, thanks, Cindy. Go figure - my iPhone seems to be my camera of choice for now. May 14th
50 May 24 Comment Chuck, I like the presence of the sign in this image. In my mind, it changes a beautiful, peaceful landscape into a story. I agree with Cindy that the image is technically well executed - good tonal range, focus and depth of field. You have captured a nice variety of textures in both the foreground and background. Well done! May 14th
50 May 24 Comment Cindy, I love this close-up. The frame is chock full of interesting detail, in the hands, the saddle, the rope, even the little bit of the horse's mane you've captured and the folds in the shirt. Beautiful tonal range and texture throughout. As Chuck said, there is a great story here. Lovely! May 14th
50 May 24 Comment James, interesting how the face shows up so much more in BW. Effective cropping really highlights the face as the focus of the shot. Good tonal range, contrast and detail throughout. The clouds are well handled (yes, nothing blown out) and provide a fitting backdrop to the rocky face. Well done! May 14th
50 May 24 Comment Paul, I too agree with Cindy. Good composition with the waterfall just soft enough to depict motion, but I imagine the shutter speed you used to achieve that resulted in the rocks being slightly out of focus. Your contrast and tonal range are well-handled although the dark area in the rocks on the left side could be lightened a bit (up the shadow slider in LR in this section only?). I much prefer the BW of this image. Nicely done! May 14th
