As others have said, we are not connected with his eyes covered. The viewer is not certain what is his mood. The red color of his pajamas does not convey any sadness or disappointment if we believe in the color theory. |

The cloud and the rain fall appear interesting. I like the orange color of the sky below the dark cloud. Would it help if you increase the vibrance of the orange sky so as to add an element of interest because the colors of the cloud and the glass are muted? As Bob has suggested, increase the contrast and texture of the cloud can also help to increase the drama but of course it is of personal taste. |

To my eyes the 2nd image is more engaging because the geisha is looking at the camera and smiling. The first image, besides telling a story, is more difficult to get as their dresses, hair style and walking postures are connected. Nice portrait. |

Hin Christine, my warm welcome as well! To me this is a lovely image, your strobe has done well to fill the couples with details as you are shooting against the sun. I agree with others that cropping the sky will improve the composition. Additionally, I wonder if darkening the sky a bit can make the couple more focused. From your 2nd photo I can see that the girl is standing on bare feet! |

I like the framing. I agree that the branches of the trees appear a bit busy and distracting. Since the colors are muted, I wonder if turning it to B&W could draw the viewers attention to the bridge. |

I think this is a fantastic image. The rim light outlines the cowboy and the horse beautifully. Cropping the horse makes a nice composition. A very compelling photo even without the starry sky. |
