Personally, I would crop this much tighter. The present composition has the subject centered where Isaac's composition has it off center and tighter. I cropped a bit tighter, applied a gradient mask to darken the leaves. |

The image is tack sharp and well composed. The color is excellent. I'm impressed by the overall depth of field. |

I believe Isaac's version made a big difference. I had trouble seeing the bird and the fish on the dark background. |

My immediate reaction was the material in the foreground. By cropping it out it lowers the horizon to the one-third position. I tried using Auto in the Camera Raw filter with some added saturation and warmth. I also added a slight edge vignette darkening the edges slightly. |

Without reading the description I did not realize that it was photographed looking through a fence. The scene itself doesn't really excite me. It almost becomes a record shot. Sorry. I do like the creative approach in the original image. |

My immediate reaction is that the primary object is the large object near the left side There's a lot of wasted space to the right side. This is also the type of subject that can take added saturation. Try pushing the Photoshop Clarity and saturation sliders for added pop. I would also apply an edge vignette darkening the edges. |

Yes it is fun going back to older images using new techniques and technology. I've been working on a bunch of images from that trip west. Next month I'll have a picture from Arches. |

Issac, that was shot with my old Nikon D70. I'll have Gary update the description. Thanks Amigo. |

I like the concept of showing the diagonal flow of the runoff. Although the blue of the water supports your description, I would prefer cropping the blue off the top. I know I have made this comment to others about the Auto setting with Adobe Camera Raw Filter, but it does give the image some pop. This would bake a great abstract print on the wall. |

I actually like the dreamy grunge look. It enhances the scene. That was a great idea removing the gull and replacing it. I'd even add a couple more. You also might consider a crop off the bottom. Overall, I like the image. |

Excellent exposure and blend considering the time of day. Just for fun, open the image in Adobe Camera Raw Filter and click on Auto. The changes are very subtle but there's a slight added pop to the orange rock near the top. |

Very interesting composition but as others have commented the greens are overpowering. One suggestion would be lowering the yellows and green luminance. |

Rick's idea of tweaking adjustments got me thinking. How would I handle this scene. One of my favorite tricks is seeing what the Auto button does in Camera Raw Filter. In this case it added some exposure and pop to the foreground grass. I also wanted to help the color in the sky. I used a radial filter and boosted the color and saturation. I also added a slight edge darkening vignette to the overall scene. |
