Erik, I think this is a great action shot. Although part of the rider is somewhat blurred the story comes through especially with the other participants focused on the action. My only concern is the bright banner in the background which, in my opinion, is a distraction. I would crop it out. |

I love the colors and simplicity of this image. I don't believe you can improve the composition. The reflection in the tide pool adds balance to the scene. My only suggestion would be to add a slight vignette to slightly darken the edges. |

Your post work has been handled fairly well to rescue a marginal image. I believe the suggestions by Isaac are spot on and make a natural appearance. For our newcomers to this group we have an inside joke. We affectionally call Isaac "Dr. Flip." LOL. He's right again. |

I love the intensity of his concentration on his face. The soft background is not distracting and adds to the image. I cropped the image at the bottom and left side. There was a bright object in the foreground that was a distraction. One thing I always try in Photoshop RAW is the Auto setting out of curiosity to see how Photoshop interprets the scene. In this case it boosted the Vibrance just slightly which intensified his yellow shirt. |

A good use of the HDR technique. I'm finding that I try several options such as Photoshop HDR Pro, Photomatix, NIK and Aurora to get desired results. Many times I go back to NIK. There is a nice line of the water flowing from the vertical drop. Like Isaac, I too cropped some from the bottom. I tweaked the Clarity and vibrance for a little pop. One thing I do on almost all of my images is apply a slight edge darkening using the Vignette in Adobe camera raw. |

Hi Rick, I didn't understand your comment about whites at 210 and Mid Tones set to 1.14.
I reprocessed the same set in Photomatix 6.0 and got better lifelike results. The wood in the pews is more accurate too |
