You technique works well on this image. Your exposure and color balance are right on. Personally the image lacks a little snap. I was also troubled by that little light trap in the lower left corner. I took the liberty to crop some of the sky away and some of the foreground. My final touch as clicking on the Auto setting in Adobe Camera Raw. Somehow it added a bit of snap or visual pop to the image.

I felt this picture was for the birds. LOL In reality it is a record shot setting the scene for a possible slide show. Or, as Ian said PJ. While there's a lot of human interest and eagle interest, I would like to see some activity by the photographers.

Although some have indicated that they felt the image was busy, I see a story of a seaside community. My first impression or reaction was the bright white building and red car in the upper left corner. By cropping that out the viewers attention comes back to the boats and reflections. Now I see a diagonal line from the sailboat to the red phone booth. The color and exposure have been well handled. |

It's an interesting observation in the sand. It's definitely not what would consider a salon quality image but something fun to do. You have chosen a challenging subject and I think with some manipulations such as what Erik recommended can serve as a starting point. I would remove the distracting material in the lower right corner either by cropping or cloning. |

I find image No. 2 to be the most interesting showing the most activity and impact with subject interest and activity. The additional dancers in the background observing the activity of Jaws become distractions. |

I feel cheated because I'm only shown a portion of the staircase. I question if a different view further left would show more of the vases and allow the curve of the stair to frame the scene. Unfortunately the handrail leads my eye up and out of the scene. |

Thank you for your kind words. It was just an idea that came to mind and I had fun doing it. I'm going to try one with one of the windows with an orange tint to look like a light is on in one of the rooms. |

I too had fun with Topaz Buzz creating an antique image. I like how the yellow sign becomes a prominent element in the overall story. |

What a great find. I would love to fill a flash card on this relic. My immediate reaction to this image was the bright areas of the weathered wood of the truck bed. I cropped that out. I also enriched the colors to enhance the rust and texture. The foreground was darkened with a graduated filter in Photoshop and finally a darkening edge vignette in photoshop was applied. I also like the suggestions of using Topaz Buzz or other painterly filters. |

The mood is what makes this image. I have gotten into the habit of checking my images in Adobe Camera Raw using the Auto setting. Those Adobe engineers have really improved the Auto settings and I use it at time for a starting point. While the foreground is the primary subject that darn white building in the background, even though you describe it use, is a visual distraction. |

Terrific scene and well handled. The two women with baby strollers are a great anchor for the scene. |

The fence on the left and road lead one into the scene. The subject has been well exposed and processed. My only negative comment is the overall amount of sky. But, as Rick said, it would make a great magazine cover. |
