Erik, I checked my metadata. It was my 24-105 mm Canon lens, 1/1000 @ f8, 40 mm. I said that was a sharp lens. |

Presently the horizon is close to mid picture. I would move it down so the horizon is at one third. |

What a terrific opportunity. One lucky fellow. Everything is working in this picture. My only negative comment is that the white areas of her uniform appear blown out and that becomes a distractions. I like Isaac's rendition, it seems to balance the exposure and lessen the highlights. |

Excellent capture. Everything is working. It's sharp where it need to be, diffused background, excellent exposure and good composition. Some may object to the out of focus wings, but that happens. |

WOW! This is one of those images that get's everyone's comments. Everyone sees it differently. Basically it's an unusual view of perhaps a common sight, lighthouses. Personally I can take the centered lighthouse, however the Rule of Turds can be broken. I tried several variations of my own in Photoshop with different filters, crops and even tried Color Look Up tables.
I have two constructive suggestions. Drop the horizon line and straighten the leaning posts to eliminate keystoning. |

I love the variety of comments from this group. While the color version has some interesting qualities, I prefer the black and white as suggested by David.
The mist or fog is an added dimension and adds to the scene. I would be tempted to push the color just bit and I would also crop some of the distractions off the bottom. |

Interesting shot. I too like the cropped version. It's probably not a salon quality picture but sometimes you need to go on emotion of the moment and say screw the judges, this ones for me.

Very nice composition. It really helps when one knows where the tripod holes are. My initial reaction is that it appears somewhat washed out. I always carry a polarizing filter with me and in this image a bit of polarization would have aided the color saturation and water reflections.

Thank you Isaac, I used ProShow Producer. I have been a Beta Tester for many years with Photodex and an avid user of ProShow Gold. This was one of my first attempts using Producer. The opening sequence would not have been possible without keyframing with the scrolling text and having the image change from monochrome to color as the text passed. I'm really not a Heavy Metal fan, I just used the available FREE music that came with the software. I really wanted some harder stuff but none was available.
