What I find so enjoyable about this specific group is the diversity of our images. Each of us has something different to show each month. This reflection image is a great example of the photographer "Seeing" something other people may have walked by. I kind of like Erik's idea of cropping and placement. It makes a bold statement. Great capture. |

I don't know what I can add to this image other than the fact that it's not mine. I was with Erik that day shooting at the Venice Rookery and we tweaked this image together. We questioned the berries in the background but I believe they are the pimento in the olive. They make it pop. The composition is outstanding. |

A very unique close up of the orchid. The overall sharpness is good and the colors appear true. I would like to see some brightness in the rea of the flower. One suggestion is to carry one of those portable and inexpensive LED panels for added lighting. One little nit, I would remove the spots in the throat of the flower. They're a bit of a distraction. |

I'm a sucker for good black and white images and you have a beauty here. I like the placement of the lamp and the star effect doesn't bother me. Being an HDR addict, I would have made multiple exposures here. I would have made several to record the lamp accurately. Perhaps through layering of exposures you could have recorded more detail in the lamp itself. I may have tried to open the shadow ares just a bit too. |

This image is tack sharp. I really like the composition of the two birds. They're beaks are pointing in the same area which helps tie the image together. If you wish to submit as a True Nature image one cannot remove that white twig. That's a no no in Nature competition. Color is okay. Granted, it does improve the image however. |

A great capture with the two women deep in conversation. The viewers attention is held tightly on the two and the background and/or location becomes secondary. This image works very well with composition and color. It's quite obvious who is the center of interest...the one speaking. I love this one. I too would tone down the background. |

You're right. The color should be more intense. I have made a black and white of this image and I have pushed the contrast and made it pop. |

Agreed, the color was more saturated in the foreground. |

A good capture with a good process for a realistic appearance. I may have tried moving a bit to the left to get a better view of the front door. I hope you spent some time here. I see many more images of this building. |

A great capture. I would have stopped too. The process is well handled. Although like the others, the sky is a bit intense. I may try warming of the shadows just a bit. I really like the lighting on the face of the church, it has character. I would also crop halfway between the church and the right edge to improve the composition. |

You made great use of the tree in framing your composition. I too felt the colors were a bit muddy. Some added contrast and clarity/vibrance will help. Good compositional eye. |

I like the overall composition and feel of this image. It's organized chaos. That circular element in the foreground grabs your attention. Although the incandescent lamp is lighting the area beyond, I would be very tempted to enhance the mood of the lighting with some selective burning and dodging in Photoshop. Particularly the area on the right side. It's secondary to the scene. The color and texture work well. I took liberty of adding some edge darkening and added dodging. |

Old interiors are made for HDR. I sense a bit of curvature in the left side with the pedestal sink. That white towel on the left should be cropped out. The tones are nicely rendered and the contrast is good too. One thought about the reflections on the wood back wall, could a polarizer have eliminated them thus warming the image with added impact and realism. Just a thought. |

The sky is dramatic but the foreground is somewhat flat. The one group of cactus in the middle has becomes a center of interest. Because of that I may have taken some Photoshop license and tweaked the brightness to grab the viewers attention. |
