Digital Dialogue (notice the British spelling) has been around for most of twenty years, and I helped name it DIALOGUE to promote DISCUSSIONS about an artistic topic about which there can be no absolute rules, and each participant can, and most often does, have his or her own separate and different artistic opinion; we all can learn by hearing and discussing the opinions of others on each others' pictures. Even when no absolute standard or rules are really possible, there are some ways to do things that work better than others that we can share. All-member discussion helps to bring out and promote differing artistic opinions and viewpoints.
The photographer need not obey the suggestions of other members, but should take them into account. In this case, I appreciate the comments and suggestions, thank you for them, admit that they have merit, but may only brighten the darkest area(s) slightly; More detail is apt to lose the simplicity that the lighting of this shot confers.
