Hi Jill
At the bottom of the Comment/Reply text box is an Image BROWSE button where you can browse and select a file to attach. Note the text at the bottom states that images larger than 1 MB will be rejected, as will filenames with funny characters (only letters numbers spaces dashes and underlines allowed)

Hi Chuck
Though the title is "Bustling" I really don't get the sense of that in this image. The subject is a sole woman walking away from what looks like fairly sedate groups clustered at small tents. Nonetheless, she makes a striking figure. I wonder if bumping up the exposure, brightening her shopping bag, and cropping the bisected tents at both sides that take the eye out of the image would be worth considering. I did a quick edit in PS to consider what I mean. |

Yes, definitely creative. As Jill metioned, a bit more contrast might give the image more bite (a quick edit in PS attached for reference, thought I suspect Jill's edits would be better).
On the creative side, having a sharp horizontal line across the image where you overlaid the reflected water does not look too convincing. perhaps you could mask out some of the reflections to fit it around the structures of the dock and boats. Also, the difference in textures between the outer water and inner water expanses needs to blend at the far right where there isn't a dock/boat to split the two areas. The stark transition at present looks unnatural. Hope these comments help. |

Lovely expressions on their faces. I had a play in PS - pulling down the blacks and adding a little clarity, and i think this gives a little extra punch. |

I think that the wet pavement reflecting the colours from the building is what makes this image work. I wonder it having someone walking in from the right side of the frame would add more of a human connection and tie the outside with the bar in some way. |

Seeing clouds of fumigant makes my skin crawl. Sure, the pesticide kills mosquitos, but large doses of cholinesterase insecticides are also bad for humans, and these dense clouds must surely be carrying lots and lots. I'm not certain, but I think the usual pesticide used is Naled, which can cause nausea, dizziness, confusion and at high doses death. It is prohibited in the EU. I have no issues with it being used as a pesticide to kill mosquitos that spread malaria and zika virus. What concerns me are the lack of PPE for the fumigator, and all the people standing in the fumes as if it were innocuous. Shudder!
I wonder if a tighter crop would focus attention on the fumigator. There is a lot of other activity in the image that take the attention away from what I take to be the message. |
