Apologies - the original version is attached. The B&W was my way of getting rid of the distracting colours, especially the bright blues. |

I like how you use the reflections to tell the context, whilst the small amount of background visible to the right of the face is beautifully blurred. I'd be tempted to try darkening or cloning out the bright background object at the top right as the eye is drawn away from the face to this brighter patch of the image. |

Lovely capture of an interesting subject. I wonder if a slight vignetting of the image might strengthen the image by keeping the eye on the main subject. |

Hi Brandon,
I agree with Lou that the background is rather busy and the new cars distract. It's always a challenge with a subject like this. Sometimes a different viewpoint can hide the distractions (eg a very low camera angle). I wonder if a wider aperture would have given better focal separation between the subject and the background. F11 gives you rather a large depth of field.
Another thing to think about would be tweaking the monochrome conversion by selectively darkening or lightening particular colours - for example darkening the greens might make the background vegetation less of a distraction. |

I think this is a nice capture illustrating the generations. I think the image is a bit dark and low contrast, and could be brightened up in post processing - I had a quick play in PS. What do you think? |

Lovely capture but there is a lot going on in the backgorund of the woman and dog. Would a tighter crop with defocus of the background make a stronger image? I had a quick play in PS - what do you think? |

Very redolent of summer days. I'd be tempted to clone out the log in the right foreground, or maybe crop to make it a more panoramic format (maybe a little off the bottom and top). Adding the cloud gives interest to the sky. |

Hi Marianne
welcome to the group. Thanks for your comments. I have edited the image (see my response to Lou's comments) to make what I think is a better image. I couldn't add the feet or the top of the tent - not in the original image, but I did make more space on the right. |

Hi Lou
Thanks for the feedback. I have revisited the image. I cropped tightly on the right because there were lots of bright distracting items there, but with some cloning I have hidden these and made for a wider crop on the right. I also darkened and slightly blurred the log below her posterior. I think this makes a better image now. |
