Hi Damon, I saw Scott Kelby edit someone's church photo on his weekly On the Grid program (look for blind photo critiques). It was amazing how much he changed and how you didn't notice it but the photo looked so much better. It has made me more aggressive at changing pixels (probably not a good thing ;) ). Don't worry about reality when it's a mood you are trying to communicate. |

Hi Dianne, fascinating abstract. To me it looks like a creature you might find it the depths of the ocean. The lighting and lack of focus make it look like it has bioluminescence and thus adds interest. When you zoom in it looks like glass straws of some sort. Super engaging photo. I hope you tells us what it is! |

Hi Jane, wonderful sunset burst. Nice layering and depth. Well composed. I did notice some minor haloing around the rocks, that's about all I would change.

Hi Damon, what a wonderful place and a good composition. I guess my eyes are not eagle enough cause the font looks fine as placed. I woild get rid of the highlight in the foreground. I like the layering in this shot starting with the font the two opposing statues and the altar in the distance. I think the round skylight at the top is too distracting and takes the eye away from that beautiful altar. Just a thought cropping the top just below the skylight and cloning out the ceiling lights that flank the altar may allow the eye to rest on the altar in the distance. I love churches but I have not been as successful as you with this wonderful shot! |

Hi Bernie, a very engaging Nature shot. You should look up Matt (As Damone suggested) he did a nice YouTube video on darkening the backround of nature shots. It's amazing how it takes a shot to that next level. To me the baby bird looks to be behind the mother bird and thus a little softer like the lilly pads do more depth of field would have helped. Higher ISO would have worked wonderfully here. I believe in nature judges are more forgiving especially if your title describes the baby moving its head in someway to get fed. I agree with the composition comments well seen. |

Hi Richard, I agree too about the lemonade! I had a hard time finding the hawk. If the picture is about the hawk watching and waiting maybe cropping the cow on the left would allow the hawk to stand out more? Just an idea for you to try. Make more lemonade - I love moody foggy shots! |

Hi Damon, this is a digital color shot converted to b/w. I cropped quite a bit probably caused the noise, but I like it better as it adds to the street photo mood. Thank you for the ideas and comments. |
