60 Nov 20 Reply Hi Jane - I actually like both crops for different uses and had a very hard time setting in the first place. The trees were moving and thank you for the idea I'll get a 10 stop filter when I have the same situation and try blurring both the water and leaves. Although I did get photos of with more wind/blur on the leaves and I like this one the best - focus blur is different than movement blur so I should probably give it a try or just take more photos than I did next time. I think I took about 10 photos when the wind was still trying to get one in focus - I should have probably shot 30. Nov 30th
60 Nov 20 Reply Hi Richard - thank you for cropping and working with my image. I think this is a great crop for instagram - I actually like both crops and was having a difficult time setting the crop level. In my original I did crop from the top and wanting to emphasize fall I kept most of the tree on the left. I just love those colors. I think I'll change the title of the photo to include fall colors. Maybe after I upgrade my camera I will also upgrade to a filter system (it gets old futzing with those threads :) ) Nov 30th
60 Nov 20 Reply hm - interesting and electronic ND filter? Lower ISO or maybe a layer of glass over the sensor. You know they make these electronic tinting you can put on your car so during the day you can turn it on and at night you can turn it off so you can see out of you side doors (but I digress).
The ND8 is 3 stops and the ND64 is 6 stops.

60 Nov 20 Comment Hi Dianne, I've always wanted to go to Bryce Canyon - maybe some day. I like the zoomed in landscape. I would zoom in more to simplify the image. I would crop down from the top just to the tree line and up from the bottom about twice as much as you cropped from the top. The foreground rocks are sharp but the focus drops off fast after that. At first I thought maybe you had wind causing the tree to be out of focus but the small rocks at the base of the tree are out of focus too. Nice place can't wait to see other photos of Bryce you may want to share with us. Nov 30th
60 Nov 20 Comment Hi Jane - I like the trees, sky and the beautiful light on the rolling hills. If I were to do anything I would lower the contrast just a little in the bright clouds on the upper right and darken only in a bit from the right. You know if you just crop down to the middle of the clouds on the top you get beautiful leading lines on the bottom of the clouds leading you right to the trees. You can change the title to reflect what you're going for. Great capture. Nov 30th
60 Nov 20 Comment Hi Damon - I agree with the previous cropping comments. It was hard for me to tell that this guy was in a bar maybe leaving it un-cropped and compositing a shot glass in would help ;). I'm a sucker for a dog photo and this one is great. I think it would work in B/W just as well. That expression is priceless. Nov 30th
60 Nov 20 Comment Hi Bernie - what a lovely spot and time of day, must have been very peaceful. I have heard from folks that this kind of shot is a cliche but I don't agree I can't stop photographing them. I agree with what others have said about: cropping the sky a bit, straightening the horizon (I have trouble with that too and the cool thing about light room is that with a click of a button it's fixed), don't be afraid to increase your ISO to get higher f-stop or shutter speed you'll still get good results (I found this article on your camera that has a range of photos at different ISO's to give you an idea of how high you can go https://www.photographyblog.com/reviews/nikon_d5600_review/image_quality). I also like LR very much (Photshop too). Nov 30th
60 Nov 20 Comment I agree really mesmerizing eyes and interesting make up job. Nice soft lighting, hard thing to find during a festival, usually I only find harsh bright lighting. I like what you are doing with the cropping just focusing in on the face. Maybe the joules on her forehead are a little distracting - perhaps blurring them or turning down the contrast would help focus on the eyes more. I wonder if you were to crop on the left side to the ear just like the right if that would be better. Just some ideas to try - good image though, street photography is very difficult! Nov 30th
