60 Sep 20 Comment Hi Dianne, what an interesting place! I'll be going to Yellowstone in a few weeks and I definitely want to spend a day at Mammoth Hot Springs. I'm curious, before I comment further do you like the soft feeling this photo gives with the mist? BTW I like ke the color version better too. I modified it - let me know what you think. Maybe my modifications are too heavy handed it's certainly quite different. Sep 7th
60 Sep 20 Comment Hi Jane, humming birds are so hard to capture. I spent 8 hours one day with the photo club I belong too and didn't get one shot. I like how the bird seems to mirror the other two flowers in your photo. I really like the out of focus drops. There is one very bright drop next to the hummer you might consider de-emphasizing by selecting it with the radial filter and changing its hew slightly to match the other drops. There are also three out of focus backround branches you might try to do the same to. What a fun photo - it communicates the joy you must have felt watching her play with the sprinkler. Sep 7th
60 Sep 20 Comment Hi Bernie, your image is sharp and you have a nice pleasing composition. What a beautiful flower. I feel as though the background is competing with the flower for attention so I suggest you consider darkening the background slightly and making it less contrasty to see if if it improves the image to your eye. I did some of the adjustments I suggested, let me know what you think. Sep 7th
60 Sep 20 Comment Hi Richard,

Well composed image. I like that you waited for clouds as they add a lot of interest to the sky in the image. A wide angle lense is hard to handle - the film plane has to be perfectly vertical to remove the keystoning effect. I heard you can straighten out an image using photoshop transform tool by setting a fixed point let's say the middle of the image and then dragging one if the corners. I haven't tried it myself. I don't mind the image as is.
